I have never seen Phineas and Ferb, so all those characters were new to me. Still, I enjoyed the show! It was really funny, and had a lot of interesting easter eggs only for fans to understand. My favorite is the appearence of Makeb from Star Wars: The Old Republic. Yeah, it was just one second (or less), but it was really cool to see it!

I hate that blatantly faulty line of thinking. Not saying you have any strong stance on it, but I have seen that line of thought thrown around as evidence of some sort of majority hate for the PT, and just because many of us don't go around screaming our appreciation from the rooftops doesn't mean we don't exist.

I, personally, was older than ten and enjoy the PT almost as much (and at times more, depending on my mood) as the OT. My mother was one of the original generation who saw Star Wars in the cinema, in her late teens, and she likes the PT fine. My father doesn't care either way, as the only 'space' stuff he likes is Firefly. But I would hardly use myself or my family as a good test sample for the PTs popularity. It was obviously popular enough, as the cinema was pretty lively and vocal all three films.

For my part, i'm a Star Wars fan in general, not an OT fan that must shun the newer entries. And TCW I outright like more than the films in general, if i have to rate them, if only because there is a lot of quality and quantity in those five and a half seasons. Hell, the films make up around 1% if Star Wars content.

Hm, since I can't edit that previous post, please forgive the double-post. Thought i'd mention that... If you have Disney XD On Demand or WATCH Disney Channel (on Apple TVs, for example), you can watch it right now.

It won me over within the first minute...

    And this was also gold...

Over all, it was some silly fun. I enjoyed the half-retro and half-stylized take on the proper Star Wars characters, though I felt Vader's look was a little off and lazy. It will never be Star Wars Family Guy or Star Wars Robot Chicken, but then, i'm not really its target audience. My little brother enjoyed it, I think.

A few parts were very nice though, and it showed Disney is able to put their money where their mouth is. The none-Phinteas and Ferb art is gorgeous at times. The Star Destroyer chasing down the Tantive IV, and other scenes from ANH, look great and make me wonder just who I have to pay for a fully animated version of the OT. With the original sounds and voices, of course.

One scene, as the two brothers enter the cantina in search of a pilot, wouldn't actually look out of place in a faithful animation. A twi'lek singer, dressed somewhat modestly by twi'lek standards, sings a numbers on stage and makes an Ithorian pass out. It cuts to P & F before long, and it is interrupted, but I found myself impressed by it.

Another standout moment was actually during a song by Candice. During her song, flashes of various planets wizz by, and the art is beautiful.

So... yeah. Really it was a Phineas and Ferb episode slotted into a none-canon version of A New Hope, and it was amusing. There is of course scope for further episodes, set alongside TESB and ROTJ, but we'll have to see.

    Also, Porkins!

Yes, my statement was about my own anecdotal experience, not intended as evidence of majority opinion in the general populace. The only PT film I truly hate is Ep. II, the other two I have spent hours of my life defending the parts I think are great of (though I still think TCW is vastly superior on the whole). I was 10 when Ep. I came out though.

I just saw this and man I loved it. Granted, a lot of singing parts but still I loved it. Especially the fight with the lightsabers, you have to watch it. It was good let me tell you between the Family Guy, Robot Chicken, Star Wars Lego and this one star wars is kicking butt in animation. It makes me wonder if Disney made the right decision in not releasing Detours. Funny Star Wars appears to be the way to go. Great animation and man let me tell you, like someone else posted earlier today, what does one have to do to get the movies animated? Or to get some serious 2-D animated shows. The stuff was gorgeous. A+++++++ all the way.

Okay, that was actually really good. Could've done without the singing. But overall, the guys behind Phineas and Ferb always do their best when they stray as far from the original formula as possible.

I LOVED that it wasn't a "remake", but instead took place along-side ANH. Too bad the opening crawl stated that "none of this is canon"! Actually ties up some plot-holes! :)

Phineas and Ferb are awesome, and Star Wars is awesome. This might be my favorite hour of television show ever. I actually loved the Tatooine song. BLUE ICE-CREAM? GENIUS!

Well, my daughter and I watched it together with Grandma (who, after witnessing her granddaughter's reaction to the trailer, made me swear to let her know when the show was airing, just so she could be there to enjoy the little one's reaction).

As anyone who read about her earlier reaction to that trailer might have guessed, my little girl loved it.

I mean, she just adored it.

Giggling and pointing out little things, here and there, and big, big shouts of joy whenever her favorites appeared. It was so much fun just to be here and see her reaction. Makes me wish I had gone with my little idea for filming her response.

The only thing she didn't embrace with enthusiastic joy was when Ferb joined the dark side. She covered her eyes and said "I don't want to watch." I assured her that "This is Star Wars, it will be okay in the end."

Well, my little girl took Daddy's word for it and braved the scary lightsaber duel (which was fantastically animated, by the way), trusting that everything would be alright.

When Ferb was redeemed, she cheered! It was awesome. :D

And you know what? I liked it, too. The little wink to the doubters, about the show being 'non-canon,' was classic. And the manner in which the P+F characters followed alongside the OT plot of ANH was inspired. As I said, the lightsaber duels were top-notch.

So, yeah, lot's of fun for me as a SW fan. But for my daughter, who is perhaps the world's biggest P+F fan (and maybe the world's second-biggest SW fan - second only to her Dad, of course), this was a day which will be long remembered.

Well done! We await any future sequels with open arms.

The cartoon's explanation for the one venting port (you know the one) took advantage very well of the show's usual formula[face_laugh].

Huge P&F fan here and this was by far my favorite Star Wars homage since the granddaddy to them all "Hardware Wars". Just brilliant. The SE and PT references were really enjoyable. Loved all the songs too, especially:

While I agree that the music was great, the winner of best song in the special is obviously:

Everyone knows villain songs are always the best. Go Empire! :D

I saw a lot of negative comments about this on youtube ("Disney shouldn't mess with Star Wars!", "It's terrible because it's Disney!", "It's offensive to Star Wars!", and people basically behaving like it's the first Star Wars parody/homage they've ever seen) so I was wondering what the people here thought about it
I have to say that I absolutely loved it, but I'm not surprised as I am a huge fan of P&F. The fact that it happened at the sime time as ANH and not instead of ANH was awesome.

I could do without the songs though (well okay, Candace's song was cool!). I laughed out loud a couple of times ("he used to be our pet but we found out that he's a rebel agent so we've let him go." :D). Oh, and Simong Pegg does a great C3PO.

I loved it I got all the jokes too. I can't remember the exact line but it was in the Cantina but they said "Only one death and one dismemberment. Not bad for a Wednesday." That just made me laugh for some reason and also the medics taking Greedo away " Someone said he shot first, but I could have sworn it was the other guy" there are many many more but I only watched it once

For UK folks - one of today's TV listing magazines in the papers has this listed for Thursday 11Sep from 4:30-5:30 PM on Disney XD (Sky channel 607). It will be followed by a first look at Rebels from 5:30-5:40 PM. I've verified this via the Sky Guide. If you have Sky and can't make the early showing, there is an 'XD + ! hour' channel on 608.
