I sent that joke to Derek through email. And I got that email from a guy I know in Japan. Amazing B told him he'd be banned if Derek didn't lock that thread. So much for FREEDOM in America when can't even state you're own opinion or joke around! FREEDOM in AMERICA sounds like a bunch of BS IMHO. I know you mods are watching this thread!

In Canada, we are TRULY FREE! We get to state our opinion without being silenced or terrorized!

 

The only reason I didn't find it funny was because I hear crap like that every day.

This war has really struck something up in some Americans.

 

Anything that you post in that Iraq thread, they will make you feel like crap, if you are not pro-war. I can't believe this. All America talks about is freedom! But it's not! It's discrimination! And it's depressing! There for, I hereby quit the JCC!!! Not that they care anyway!

Took a quick look through the thread and after coming across ad hominem, ad infinitum, I decided I'd likely have a more enlightening conversation with a brick wall.

I personally enjoy discussions with those I disagree with. I find them to be engaging and informative. I've rarely learn something new from someone I agree withis a personal moto of mine. However, such discussions have to be based on a mutual exchange of ideas and thoughts. There are no thoughts being posted there worth exchanging. Just unfocused mean-spiritedness, fear and anger.

Take that thread for what it is, as an example of the ugliness of nationalism. Now if you excuse me, I've thought of a witty retort to give to my brick wall...

 

I hope you guys don't mind Tara and I bringing our anti-war sentiment here. Protesting the war is no longer allowed in the JCC.

I asked a question there, and everyone just accused me of trying to subtly start a fight, so I'll try asking it here. Both Iraqi and American news sources say that Iraq has 400,000 soldiers. 10,000-15,000 have surrendered. Under 1,000 have died in combat. Where the heck are the rest? Saddam apparently has a large army at his disposal, but we have yet to see it. All we've seen so far are a few skirmishes.

I'm going to have to ask that there be no more public hostility directed towards the JC side of the forums or the Mods.
Doing so is childish and uncalled for.

I an in discussions with them (for the past 4 days). Please do not create more of an issue.

Regarding the bannings...I think there are some very large misunderstandings regarding. I would like to speak to Derek, Tara, and Chris as soon as possible regarding.

 

i don't want to be accused of insolence or starting anything...but is there a rule that we must agree and like the mods? i mean, i can understand respecting their authority (they can ban us) but is it wrong to publically disagree with them?

 

It's wrong to disagree if they are pro-War
