Did you name the baby "DaJuan"? It's a good name, kind of like "Don Juan" but with an urban, almost afro-cuban flavor.

Apologies if this has already been addressed; I didn't feel like reading the thread tbqh.

    EDIT: Semicolon, foo.

Nope, my mom named me "Dajuan" about 30 years ago. I named my little guy "Colin Aaron." I see we have never met in person ;)

Doug and I met slimy's mom last year at Star Wars in concert. She was my and Colin's nurse on Wednesday or Thursday and thought she recognized my name and face. It took us a few minutes to completely make the connection but we did. She was a very sweet and helpful lady.

I had to tell you that I now have a coworker named Dajuan!!

He's a guy, though, but every time I see his name on the daily, I think of Yooooou!

I've heard of a few guy Dajuan's but I've never met one. Lol :)

We are doing ok, if tired. Colin's awake time seems to be from 10-2am. I am trying to adjust to that, or adjust him to my awake time. He has a sixth sense for when I'm about to nod off, both at night and the middle of the afternoon. So so far I haven't been able to nap. Breast feeding is another challenge, but we're attending a Mommie and Me class this morning to help with that.

Over all we're doing well though. He's mostly a happy and hungry little guy. Right now he's sleeping on my chest as I post this. Thank God my mom came to stay with us for a couple days. I wouldn't have made it without her.

Funny story: yesterday Colin had his first doctor visit. Before we left I took two Vicodin, drank some coffee and water and forgot to eat. On the way there I asked my mom if she was driving funny or if the road was "tilty." Nope on both. Looks like I OD'd a bit on the pain meds. Oops. We stopped to grab me a snack to help with the tilty-world but I was still loopy and unsteady at the doc's. I'm sure I looked like parent of the year.... They seemed sympathetic though and everyone there reminded me that I did have major surgery less than a week ago. I seem to forget that fact.

Yesterday I also received a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Joe Hogan (our CV banner artist). I don't have the card in front of me at the moment, but he said something like: now that Colin is here Doug and I can go to Mustafar with no foreseeable consequences. :) I'll admit, the flowers made me cry a little. If I remember I will post pics of them later.

Eventually I plan to come in here and answer some questions/comments directly but I can never seem to find the time. Either way thanks for all the nice things that have been said. We have the best friends and family in the world.

Hang in there, Daj, the first few months are a heck of an adjustment. Just take it a little at a time and accept all offers of people watching Colin while you sleep. ;)

I think it became a game for Jacob to wake up right as I was dozing off. He had the most uncanny sense of timing... even then.

He's a cutie pie!!! I'm biased, but I think boys are easier. :p

I thought I'd dig up Colin's thread on his 6 month birthday and share his Halloween pics:

Those were taken a month ago but he still looks the same.

Little guy is scooting and rolling around the house now. I anticipate him starting to crawl sometime near Thanksgiving. He has three Star Wars plushie toys, Chewie, Yoda, and Wicket. Chewie is his favorite. He often chews on Chewie. His current favorite activities are chewing on everything he can and blowing raspberries at me nearly constantly. Oh, and mocking and hothie and me. He has a chipper high pitched voice normally but occasionally he looks at us, makes a funny face and "talks" in a real low pitch. Totally mocking us.

So he's growing up to be a JCCer. Good! Mockery is what we do best.

Our kids are just a month apart!
I spared him a costume on Halloween. He slept the whole time anyway while my daughter collected candy (and my wife didn't care either).

Didn't realize my images weren't showing. They should be good now.

Yep, he does great mockery. He even has a mocking expression while he's doing it. I'll try to get it on video next time he does it. If he's talking by CVI (I have no idea at what age kids start to talk) I'm sure the JCers will teach him all sorts of great words and phrases :)

Kiki, is yours older or younger? Colin slept through the trick or treaters but he wore his costume for a bit before that and when we visited my work.

Our baby, Roland, is one month older.
He's just starting to crawl (more like roll) and putting his hands on everything.

    What a cute baby. :)

Both of my kids crawled at 7-8 months; my oldest army-crawled for awhile before pulling himself up into yoga's table pose. The initial crawling stage is scary, as they move at .5 past lightspeed.

Mine wins on the cuteness factor :p Seriously I'm not worrying about when he hits particular milestones. I really don't know when he should be doing what and I want to leave it that way. Otherwise I'll worry that he's behind or something ridiculous like that.

Colin's rolling and scooting like an inch worm. I swear I thought he was going to crawl today but he couldn't get his arms and legs coordinated yet. It does make for some amusing face plants on his part though. He managed to pet one of the cats very gently today too. I've been working with him on petting and respecting the kitties.

Very cute boy you have there, Dajuan! Watch out, once they start crawling the fun really starts.

You, sir, know how to pick a baby's name.
