So, is this still all Sarah Palin's fault?

I find all the fascination with the killer out there disgusting.

If there is something to be learned about what provoked him (hate speech, etc.) then I'm all for it because we can learn about how society can push people on the edge.

But this blow by blow, here's another video, he did this, he did that is just morbid curiosity.

We know enough of him now to know he was just insane, the world should stop extending his 15 minutes and encouraging other crazy people to get their youtube videos watched by millions.

I think, while a portion of it is definitely people viewing this as a fascination with the killer that isn't in a productive fashion, I think the two ways it is acceptable are 1. trying to understand the sort of thought process associated with someone that would do this as I would like to think many people find the simple idea of doing what he did as incomprehensible and 2. looking for what parts of his behavior would have been a warning sign. It seems like based off what's out there, society didn't push him to do this (the rhetoric in particular seems to be fairly clearly not a factor for as much as it was hyped) but society DID let him reach the point he did.

Its not fascination. Its examining the evidence and trying to understand what made this sick bastard tick.

Whether it's Loughner, Koresh, Jones, or Bundy....you HAVE to understand their psychology in order to tell an unbiased story. Otherwise you get biased tales like the "hero" John Brown, who was in reality just a run of the mill religious/anti-government nutjob.

For instance...John Allen Muhammed, the DC Sniper. He was a great guy...until he served in the first Gulf War. In interviews with his wife, he suffered from what was apparently a severe form of PTSD upon his return with a marked change in personality. He would sit for hours in a rocking chair, just staring blankly off into space. He then became possessive and controlling, which led to her leaving him.

AND...you know how all of the shootings occurred in Maryland? Guess where the wife was living at the time? It is theorized that the shootings were not some anti-government action....but a cover. Theory is that he was going to kill his wife AFTER shooting all of the random people, thus making her the final victim. They would be looking for the sniper, but he would avoid capture.

Despite the fact that he probably didn't know who Palin was back in 2007? Yes.

She is actually leaving the UMC hospital to go to a rehab hospital in Houston. She has alot of rehab in front of her yet.

I am from Tucson, born and raised, however im stationed in Phoenix for now.I thought the memorial was amazing, especially what Obama said and I dont care for him much. You got to keep in mind that everyone that made it INSIDE Mckale Center for the memorial were waiting in line overnight just to get tickets to get inside. As well as having to endure the long arduous security checks before getting inside, everyone was hyped and excited to rejoice and remember the lives lost. There was soooo much mourning in tucson immediately after the shooting, up to the presidents arrival. Everyone was ready to come together and celebrate the lives lost and move forward. Also, it was mostly college students at the memorial, and they get pretty rowdy at games and stuff. I KNOW it was a memorial and not a game, but we are known for being a loud crowd at times.

So with that being said, all the critics of the memorial and nay sayers, if your not from Tucson you wouldn't understand.
It was in no way a pep rally. Its just that everyone has a different way of doing things.

Here are some pictures I took while I was at the memorial outside Giffords hospital yesterday::

    More good news!

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' condition has been upgraded from serious to good and she will be moved to a rehabilitation center Wednesday morning, according to hospital officials in Houston.

Giffords and her husband, Mark Kelly, were photographed in her hospital room watching President Barack Obama's State of the Union speech.

Giffords was moved to Houston Friday from Tucson, where she had been treated since being shot Jan. 8 in an assassination attempt that left six people dead and 12 others wounded.

The statement said "Giffords has made strong progress" in the intensive care unit and was ready to move on to rehabilitation. A news conference was planned for 3 p.m. local time Wednesday.

What a remarkable recovery, it's great that miracles like this are still happening even in such a bad time for America. :)
