Excellent - I have been looking for a Star Wars thread dedicated to the costumes!

Re: Kylo Ren's costumes across the trilogy. I landed on his TROS costume probably being my favourite, because they got the proportions about right. He looks bulkier in Episode 9, and with the bulkier cape and hood, it sets off the repaired helmet.

However, the costume below is awesome. What I like about the look is that it is much more slender and almost medieval, like a malevolent witch or something from the middle-ages. The cross-saber is reminiscent of a heavy broadsword, and it is finished off with the ragged, shoulder length cowl and fitted sleeves. He's almost the anti-Knight Templar. I like how his costume has a "home made" look too, suggestive of being thrown together by somebody obsessed with pretending to be somebody else. It's meta, but in-universe. It's a great design, I love it.

Okay, so whilst Han's black waistcoat is probably his iconic look, my personal favourite is the costume from The Empire Strikes Back. I think this look is the ultimate hero look. There's a timelessness about this look that didn't occur with the costumes from Star Wars or Return of the Jedi. In Star Wars, Harrison is definitely looking like a man from the 1970's, open shirt, bare chest, big sideburns, and by the time Return of the Jedi rolled around, he had taken on a kind of 1980's "Sonny Crockett" bouffant hairstyle. The costume below however never ages, and Han never looked better.

I find it very sad that the great Bruce Spence was reduced to a mere cameo in Revenge of the Sith, as he is one of my favourite character actors. Even more tragic is that his too-brief appearance was in this incredible make up and costume that they created for him as Tion Medon. Whilst rather an inert character as it turned out, his appearance is nothing but sinister. The design would have worked for the character who was the big bad of the Sequel Trilogy for example. Here's a thought...if only this had been Snoke!

Well naturally they amounted to very little apart from their boyband style appearance on that rock, but it has to be said that these guys rock in terms of costumes. I mean, come on. The guy second left with the hood is the coolest.

One of the most incredible and striking movie character designs of the last few decades. An utterly unforgettable appearance, despite his ignominious demise, thanks mostly to that superb look.

This is a great costume. I remember wondering who the heck it was that had managed to capture the mighty Chewbacca back when I first saw Return of the Jedi. The helmet is the best part.

Rogue One did a great job of capturing the aesthetic perfectly from A New Hope making it an almost seamless bolt-on. My favourite costume was this guy though who was on top of the Imperial Tank in Jedha City

    No words required.

Due to pop cultural osmosis, I really do think that we tend to take for granted just how brilliant and creative some of the costume design is. The first film even won an Academy Award for Best Costume Design. Just look at how iconic and distinctive all of these costumes are:
