LA, CA Couch Potatoes Discuss TV Here Part Deux

I just called the 1-800 number on the "horned rimmed glasses man's" business card from yesterday's Heroes for Primatech Paper. It was an automated message service, which is typical. I went through one of the menus and they gave me a code that I am to use on their website www.primatechpaper.com. Then you're asked for your information and some personal questions as if you're applying for a job. I put in some bogus information and a junk email address I use. Let's see what happens.

I also watched 24. It was pretty exciting! Is Jack gonna kill his brother who I didn't know was his brother but rather some creep with a bluetooth headset?

 

JR, don't you recognize his brother from last season?!? He was the mysterious bad guy pulling all the strings! Remember the part when President Logan was talking to him and assuring him he was about to kill himself (but then didn't)? And all that stuff? I can't believe he's Jack's brother! *Gray*, haha!

What I can't remember, since I've seen her on so many sci-fi shows, is who Gray/Jack's brother's wife is...was she on 24 previously too?

Gray (Graham?) Bauer was also Leonard Betts on X-Files...I shall laugh if he loses a thumb or head and think "well, he'll just regrow it!"


I haven't watched Heroes yet. Tonight is nerdy political night, AND CNN Pipeline is free (cnn.com/pipeline), so I'll be watching a bunch of old 'Nth Degree's from 360.

 

JR, Don't want to scare you or anything, but you're beginning to sound like me & my obsession for Lost's "bogus" Hanso Foundation websites.

 

ES, I DO remember Gray (Graham?) from last season, but I didn't know he was Jack's brother. That was a surprise. My wife says Gray's wife is Ethan Patrelli's wife on Heroes, the one in the wheelchair. I can't confirm that though.
There's too much to watch on Mondays.

YES, she's wheelchair woman. I wonder how she's managing to be on two shows at once--she'd better hope they never need her on the same day! I think she's been on Smallville or something too...hmm. (maybe XF too, but I can't place her...)

At least there's no more Monday night football--luckily that'll never interfere with the way they've been doing 24's schedule. (it's bad enough missing 360 when the Packers are on! )

 

I can't read this thread because you are talking about 24 which I have yet to watch! Sunday I plan to get caught up on Sunday.

 

I don't watch 24, but does anybody here watch Greys Anatomy? McSteamy and McDreamy are hot! A new episode is on tonight. Yipeeeee!!!!!!

What about cartoons? When Justice League ended I moved on to The Batman and The Legion of Superheroes. What's up with the re-runs? I want to watch new episodes!

 

I absolutely LOVE Grey's Anatomy. Boohoo! I won't get a chance to watch it until tomorrow night or Saturday. I also remembered to set the DVR for Smallville, Supernatural, Jake 2.0, Ghostwhisperer and WHAT NOT TO WEAR, JB (9pm/Friday night/TLC. Don't say I didn't remind you, Dudette.

ES, tonight's Cold Case made me think of you. It always has a great sound track and all of tonights songs were from U2. The ending song was With or Without You.

 

Oh, I watched it!! I saw a commercial for it during Letterman and so watched that and the SAGs tonight. It was a decent show! It didn't hook me though (meaning, I won't be becoming obsessed with it), but I wouldn't mind watching it again sometime. It seemed like there were more commercials than is usual...hmm.


Some local channel 'round here has 24 on on the weekends (I never remember when--sometimes it seems like late-night Saturdays, sometimes late-night Sundays...so I just catch it when I catch it), and they're in the third season, so tonight I saw the episode where the bad guy, Stephen Saunders, made Palmer have CTU (Jack) kill Ryan Chappelle at some train tracks downtown (6-7am). I only caught one episode from earlier in that season (I think), with Jack busting Ramon Salazar out of prison. I love how Ramon's brother (Hector) says the name "Ramon"...I imitate it all the time.

 

Did anyone watch Heroes? Did any catch the little "easter egg"?

I think I like Heroes more than 24. 24 is getting too predictable.

Lost's new time is a little past my bedtime and I game with friends Thursday night, this week's a beginners Greek dancing class on Friday, which means, I don't get to watch most of my favorite shows until the weekend. Thank goodness for Heroes & House!

 

I didn't catch that on Heros. I love that show, and I agree with you JR 24 just seems like the same stuff over and over again just with differnt people.

 

I saw Lost last night and I really enjoyed it. It's on way too late for me but I stayed up any way because they usually talk about the episodes on KROQ and I hate missing out. As a result, I'm tired today.

Oh, and that hottie Jamie Bamber was on KROQ yesterday morning. I ended up sitting in my car for at least 10 minutes to listen to the interview before rushing off to an all day class on making presentations (boring). Then they asked him to stay for another break and I had to leave so I was mad. Of course they replayed it this morning at 5:15ish but it was the part I had already heard! Man!

Tonight should be Smallville. It's getting silly and I want the JL to come back because they were fun. Clark has to just get over Lana and Chloe has to get over Clark. Chloe and Jimmy were cute together.

 

So Smallville still has that love triangle thing going. That's one of the reason's I stopped watching. It was less about Superman and more about a sappy love thing.

Lost was really good last night. Did anyone catch the SW reference Sawyer said? Falling for the Chewbacca prisoner trick.

Yes, the love triangle (now a rectangle or pentagram or whatever a six sided thingy is) is ridiculi (more than ridiculus) but Tom Welling is, well, Tom Welling... Say no more...nudge, nudge...

Las night's LOST was very revealing. So, there really are 2 islands. Hmmn, Dharma Initiative is still alive and well and was still recruiting 3 years ago. Alex is Ben's kid? Is she Rousseau's, too? (I came up with a theory last season that Rousseau was originally one of the OTHERS, but went crazy.)

 

Wow, I've been needlessly staying away from this thread because, until earlier tonight, I was a couple weeks behind on Heroes. I can't believe all you guys think Heroes is a better show than 24! *pouts* I mean, Heroes is *interesting* and all, but it's stupid!! It's fun to watch, but...I don't know, maybe kind of campy? Or something? And, except for Hiro and Ando, they really just *present* all the characters to you, they don't care if you care about them (and for the most part, you don't very much). 24, yes, of course, it's always about terrorism, just like medical shows are always about sick people (and sex?) and cop shows are always about criminals (and sex?), but this season is just as gripping as past ones. Each season has had its slower points, and this one's no exception, but, my goodness, the NUKE going off, and this Monday's two hours?!? Just as riveting as any high point of years past. I mean, the whole thing with Morris! The s--- going on in Wayne Palmer's administration! (Poor Wayne...I'm starting to get a big Kennedy parallel here, haha) And POOR, poor Jack, with his *family*!!! I hope his mommie was a better person than his dad and brother. Anyway. You guys are no fun if you don't like 24 anymore. I so would be hosting weekly 24 parties for y'all were I still there! That was fun that one time...

 

Aww ES, don't get upset. Just to let you know, I watched the 2 hours of 24 on Monday, and I have yet to watch Heroes that I recorded. 24 was rather exciting. I wonder what the subplot of "eliminating" Wayne Palmer will be.

What's with all the sex? Well, I've never watched Gray's Anatomy, but have heard it's a soap first and medical drama second, and last night's House and the next new ep are all sex-talk...and I've never watched cop shows (unless maybe you count X-Files?), but NYPD Blue had lots of sex, right? I heard aaaall about Dennis Franz showing his rear on the show, haha. That's why I put that as a secondary possible theme of those shows.

Me too...btw, my dad is watching (because *I'm* watching, otherwise he'd say the show's too tense and wouldn't want to watch, he's weird like that) and HATES that Sec. of Defense from Ally McBeal whose name I can't remember at the moment. Every time he comes on the screen my dad starts bitching, haha! I actually don't hate him at all, though, of course, he's an ass. I don't want them to kill Wayne! He's kicking ass by not being all Fascist/whatever and going along with making the country basically a military state, like the Defense guy has a major jonesin' for.

Oh, and also since my dad's never watched more than a couple episodes before, he doesn't like Chloe yet! I love her now, but she took a year or two to grow on me...it's funny seeing someone reacting the way I did in, like, 4th season to a character!
