Anyone else find it funny that everyone kept calling Lord Tyranus Count Dooku? After he was given his Sith Lord name, why was he then not known that way. Even Grevious called him Dooku in this final film rather than Lord Tyranus. If when Darth Vader was conceived, he killed Anakin Skywalker, then why when Darth Tyranus was conceived did he not signify the end of Dooku? They were both good jedi at one time turned to the dark side. I just find it funny that everyone continued calling Tyranus Dooku.

Probably because it was important for Dooku to keep up appearances, since he was a pretty major political figure. Kind of like how Chancellor Palpatine was never referred to as Darth Sidious in public.

Dooku had to hide his Sith affiliation, Vader did not.

IMO, it also shows Anakins total commitment to the Sith, a trait that Dooku seemed to be lacking.

it says in the encyclopedia that tryranus has only thought of himself as tyranus for 13 years but goes by the name dooku (which has no meaning to him) & leads the separatists ( who he is really plotting against) just as his public image

he was going to betray the separatists and blame the war on grievious

Ah, but the novelization of the movie and Labyrinth of evil say that Dooku does have meaning to him because of his status as a count and aristocrat.

That meaning is only in the title of Count not in the name dooku. At least thats how i understood it. It only has that meaning to him as a false facade.

How many times was he called Lord Tyranus? I can only remeber at the end of AOTC when Dooku arrives at the Sith hideout and Sidious says, "Welcome home Lord Tyranus."

Jango tells Obi-Wan he was hired by a man called Tyranus.
Then in the Clone Wars, Sidious refers to him as Lord Tyranus once, but I don't recall that name ever being used ROTS.
Dooku is just plain underused as a character.

I AGREE!!! he was a character with a rich background who was far tooooo overused. in fact, in episode II and III, it seemed as if he was just there for the saber fights. heck, some of my friends who aren't huge star wars fans and who only saw the movies for fun, barely remember him x.x! "Count who? Oh, you mean that guy who lost his head at the beginning of episode III?" pfft x.x!
