Crab droid: Star Wars meets transformers

Just found this little droid in my guide to Eppie Three, I think they were used on Utapau but I haven't got a still of it in the film.

I love it when that clone trooper wastes the crab droid. One of my favorite scenes in the film.

what is a crab droids purpose other then get in the way of clones they dont seem to very strong

Sounds like it used blaster or some sort of projectile weaponry.

so they're like the all terain walkers for the seperatists

Sort of. They have the same purpose but these seem to be much more agile and manueverable. I'd say the Republic's AT-TE's focus on enemy vehicles and structures while these Crab Droids seem to be used to attack ground troops.

A crab droid is also seen in Clone Wars Season III, projecting some kind of bubble over Aayla Secura, Agen Kolar and Voolvif Monn, trapping them - until Anakin arrives, of course...
