Lit Cult Encounters and Supernatural Encounters (even more new Legends material!)

Anyone else getting Final Crisis flashbacks?

Great and epic art indeed, but I miss a Star Wars touch to it. It could be generic art of any cuthulu or horror rpg or series. Not iconic enough so in that regard it sadly fails epically. Did the artist intend to reuse it elsewhere to make more money of it? Looks like that to me.

Books, no datapads? The guys clothes look too earthly... someone replace that guy and the bookshelf with a Jedi Archive type shelf with glowing datatapes and I'd feel much better about it.

 

The concept of a paperless office is merely a rumor.

 

I love books, but it still misses or lacks the SW look all SW designs have. Even with books.

 

I'd agree...but there's not very much of Cult Encounters in general that I feel is particularly "Star Warsy". Lovecraftian, sure. Comic-booky, yup. Star Wars? Uh.

 

Feels like something out of Red Harvest. Works for me.

 

I want to know what the artists version of Wutzek looks like

 

The entire supernatural encounters article really has a grant morrison feel to its the parallel with final crisis is appropriate.

 

When you combine the story potentials that come spiraling out of cult and supernatural encounters, with the concepts like the world between world, and like grant morrison's hypertime, you could come up with a hyper crisis style story, that explains the meta textual contradiction in the star wars universe while acknowledging every story as valid. Personally I find the concept of hyper time would enrich the star wars universe instead of having us constantly worry about continuity.

 

Oh man, a Morrison-penned Crisis on Infinite Star Wars using the information from SE would be a dream come true; I've thought about the same idea myself.

about a young Naboo boy lost in the jungle, meeting creatures of myth and scary Gungan/Rakata who are hiding Rakatan tech below the Naboo oceans preparing to rise again one day. Entering the World betwen Worlds through a portal in one of the sacret sites ancient head statues of Ancient Gods by accident, he seens many possible futures and pasts and upon his return is greeted by a Muun who tells him it is his destiny to prevent what he saw and the first step would be to kill his family to the last man, woman and child.

 

I could easily see Cronal posing as Hogrum Chalk in the legacy era, kickstarting a crisis, in a similar fashion to the chronovore in Grant Morrison's original pitch for his hyper crisis event, by finding the room between world and messing with splendid ap's parallel universe.

I can also easily see Luke getting a similar arc to superman in all star superman and dc one million. Maybe instead of getting cancer and flying into the sun to power it, Luke is slowly infected and turned into a celestial by his injuries at Abeloth's hand and ends his transformation by jumping into the black hole at the center of the galaxy to prevent it from eating the galaxy.

 

The Star Wars Expanded Universe Timeline : It was ultimately my choice for him to have his room depicted with print books as opposed to datapads. Of course, Hex has those in abundance too. But this is his private collection at home, and he's a historian. Made sense to me. (Besides nothing beats the look of a great bookshelf, even one being trashed by evil spirits!)

Hey, thought I'd chime in here. Had to look up my old account, which I hadn't used in a few years, but it still works.

I'm the person behind the Alien Anthology blog, and it's nice to see some people are at least reading what I'm writing.

As for waiting for the "final edition", if there was any kind of indication as to when we'll get that, I'd be up for waiting. I'm not to fussed about the illustrations as of now, but I'm curious to see if there are major changes in the text. I may consider updating the entries on the blog if needed, or write an update separately if there’s like new references. Any ideas as to what or when we can expect things?
