When I was in High School I worked at Bradlees department store and we would have Fork-Lift races in the receiving department. Not as fast as Pod Racers but they did a whole lot more damage. :D

shopping trolleys are better, specially down the drive way to the loading dock at my old job. only 14 injuries and no fatalaties.
During stocktake about 8 years ago, one salesperson had to volunteer to help in the docks, so i quickly volunteered, as i was mates with most of the dockies. after we finished our work (14 hour work day during stocktake) we held shopping trolley races down a 50degree incline driveway, i am proud to say i came 3rd overall, no steering, no brakes, no accelorator, its mad fun, and bloody scary, the driveway is loooooooong.

I prefer driving boats. I love speed boats, and pontoon boats are cool too. One time I was driving a pontoon boat and I saw a tour boat going across the lake, so I steered the boat into the wake. That was so much fun! The boat was going up and down on the waves and I almsot got one of my cousins sick. [face_devil]

ok making a lightsaber is not that hard or time consuming at all. i started monday and i'm on the last leg. here's my question, where can i find shiny copper fixtures that look like buttons or knobs with grooved edges? well duh i know home depot, electrical department, etc..but i mean, what parts should i look for? i want something that would look like an enlarged watch stem. do i go for turny light knobs? this part is stumping me.

providing they come out good, i'll post some pics of the progress this weekend.

Well, since I feel I am mechanically handicapped, Im not ready to build a saber on my own just yet.

BUT! I can sew pretty darn well so Im exchanging a movie accurate jedi robe custom made for my friend and he is making me a lightsaber! Just got this description from him yesterday:

Pommel: Gloss black, has flat black "peg" for clipping to belt.
Handle: Speckeled silver painted metal shows through circular whole pattern in black rubber grip.
Emmiter: Multiple diameters and shapes, all chrome exterior. With either chrome or black accent knobs.

Sounds good, yes? I cannot wait to see this. He's said I will have it by the middle of next week which will be perfect as I'll be getting all Mara'd up next Saturday for an event in Dallas. :)

Eventually we will work on getting it 'lighted' when my finances are a lil better. ;)

I think I might try and build one.I'm pretty good with my hands at stuff like that,so I dont think it will be hard. And I have 3 Home Depots close enough to get parts.

I'm also gonna try my hand at a blaster to,I got one of those od Kenner stormie blasters,so I can mod that one,but I might try and do the pvc ones to

Congrats on the dress-form! I have NO idea how I lived before I got mine.

Heh, I used to have this really old one made of cardboard that you would have to fold and pin in different ways to adjust the size. Was SUCH a pain!

Now I have a fancy one and I love it. Although I fear it is too small for a commision I just recieved... need to figure out how to size it up!

Think of department store mannequins (spelling?) when you are making an item of clothing you put it on the dress form so that you can make it the right size and shape for your body. At least thats my interpretation of it. I fear sewing so I guess I might not be the best to answer. I am too scared to make a costume of my own. I was looking at pics of idarii's and crimson's costumes...nice job those are amazing!
