Poland's ongoing virus situation is almost definitely impacting their ability to run QA so not terribly surprising.
CDPR is doing a livestream, supposedly there will be a new trailer and gameplay: edit: having trouble making the embed work
I watched the Night City Whatevertheyrecallingit over lunch, and I continue to be excited about this game. I really hope it lives up to its potential, because it looks like it's going to be a blast.
It’s going to be all I play for months, and can’t wait to get through all three different plot lines/classes.
The third Night City Wire came out this week, just in case anybody missed it. I have never been so excited just to walk around inside a game. The writing and gameplay could be a huge disappointment and this game will still be worth it as an absolute visual treat.
Nothing about the writing of the game excites me so far, and yet I'm really looking forward to it. At this point, so long as it's not abysmal I doubt I could care less. I just want to spend far too long staring at a character creator in a game where I'll only ever see it in reflections, then wander around the city with a bunch of choices to make.
Don't. Buy the PS4 version more cheaply and then get the PS5 upgrade for free! https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/...ll-get-day-one-patch-to-work-on-playstation-5 "The developer further clarified that this would not be the final update to buff the next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077. A beefier version of the game optimised for Microsoft and Sony's new machines will follow down the line - perhaps some time down the line - but again be available to PS4 and Xbox One owners free of charge. "I can confirm this is not the final update," CD Projekt exec Michał Nowakowski said. "At some point we will have a more robust update for next-gen which we plan to give free of charge to anyone who purchases the PS4 or Xbox One version. "But in any case you will be able to play the game on next-gen from 19th November when the game releases and it will look better than on current-gen from that moment as well." When questioned on the timing of the "proper" next-gen version, CD Projekt could not confirm it would arrive in 2021." (my emphasis)
I will be buying the PS4 version... once the actual PS5 update is out. Because I'm not playing it until that happens, and that won't be until 2021 they said. Hopefully early 2021, but still. I will be playing AC Valhalla for a few months I expect.
Well, the bit Ben cited wouldn’t promise it would come out in 2021 at all. You would hope, but no guarantees. I’d guess they want to take their time and get the most out of it. Anyway, I preordered this week and I am READY.
I think what we get at launch will look very good, if not excellent - the design aesthetic alone is looking great.
With the three origins, it’s going to require at least three playthroughs already. The upgrade will just be an excuse to time one of the replays with it. Between this and Valhalla I’ll have my plate full for a while. EDIT: Speaking of origins, which one does everybody plan to play first? I really want to start with the street kid origin —it seems the most archetypal and attuned to the game world — but I’m also really tempted to have my first playthrough be as the outsider nomad, seeing the city through fresh eyes.
I feel the same way! The street kid origin would ostensibly have the most ludo-narrative cohesion, and be the "purest" cyberpunk experience. But the roleplaying aspect of being an outsider encountering the full extent of the dystopia for the first time is also amazing, as the player and character share the same bewilderment. I'm very tempted to start with street kid, but on the other hand, it seems like the best way to experience a nomad play through will be as your first play through. Not sure which I'll do first, but I'm pretty sure corporate will be last.
This game will make me an sympathetic expert on your lived experience, just like The Wire made me an expert on life in America's urban centers.
To me Kitsch feels surprisingly uninspiring, much of it is just a reinterpretation of the colorful Miami 80s / 90s with cybernetics, and the cybernetics does not stand out so much, so many ways you can style it and most limbs look like standard cybernetics with color on. Entropitism is boring, just a future version of trailer trash / society’s dropouts. Nothing new. Neomilitarism is first and foremost a boring name that does not fit with the look – ‘neonoir’, ‘undertaker’, ‘corpgoth’, ‘black&business’, ‘abyss’, and ‘austere professional’ all sounds better as a style name for the look we see – then it is also very boring in terms of the shown design, although it is a nice contrast to the other styles Neokitsch should not be its own style but just the rich version of 'kitsch', beside that do I like it and think it's the one wich feel freshest. But even though I like it, it does not feel like they did not go gonzo enough with the possibilities that the $$$-kids should have. Also, the lack of connection between the gangs and they styles are a big minus, only one of the gangs looks like they belong to one of the styles (the Moxes who seems to be kitsch). Feel like the creators like the nomads best and corp least going by the presentation
Good lord I'm loving these trailers they're spitting out. Somehow the game looks better each time, when it already looked like a masterpiece from the start. I just wanna get in the game so badly and start exploring! I especially liked the vehicle trailer as you got to see a lot of the incredible open world.
