Daisy's definitely done, she got a haircut! Y'know you probably got reshoots in August and September, Ridley! Now they gotta make you a wig!

Unless she is taking a page out of Captain Marvel in End Game and going to have multiple haircuts for the movie. Could be even perhaps a epilogue scene at the end like HP 8.

You had awful anxiety after the release of the first Star Wars, even developing holes in your stomach wall. How did you fix that and how are you feeling these days?

I’m feeling great. I think it was — I was training in a way I’d never done. It’s a lot for a body to take. It was a massive press tour, going to all of these countries I’d never been to. It’s hard on your body to do things like that. I basically did not properly take care of myself. So now it’s like, A massage would be good! A facial would be good. All that talk about self-care — it’s really important. I still train really hard, but in a way that’s much gentler on your body. I’ve realized that you don’t have to absolutely kill yourself in order to be healthy. It was a big lesson. Training, traveling, and not feeling like you’re in charge. And I took control and figured out how to keep myself safe. I do feel a lot calmer, and settled. I don’t think anything will ever be as scary as the initial six months after Star Wars came out.

In the new Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer, we see you and Carrie Fisher embracing, a tear running down your face. I know that that scene was compiled using unused footage from The Force Awakens, but do you remember the original context of that moment?
I do! It’s not a million miles away from what this scene is. It was very sad. I found it very moving to watch it, because I do remember the original. And it’s a strange thing to do, for someone that’s not around anymore to be brought back to life. It’s eerie that it resonates so much with what the story is this time. It’s pretty amazing.

Do you remember how you and Carrie discussed playing the scene?
She was actually whispering, “This is a ****ing long hug.” [Laughs.] I was trying to do my acting, like, “Oh my god, Carrie!” There wasn’t any discussion about what we were gonna do.

Our sister publication did a funny piece on the absolute enormity of Adam Driver. Is he an overwhelming presence, physically?
    Absolutely, yes.

How would you describe his size?
I’d describe him like a hulking, skulking … I think skulking implies something negative. But yeah. Hulking and skulking. That’s how I’d describe him. It sounds so disrespectful for someone I’ve worked with for so long. [Laughs.]

When you look ahead at the Disney calendar, there’s a new Star Wars movie planned every other year until 2027. Carrie and so many other Star Wars stars continued to appear in the franchise as long as they could — do you imagine yourself doing so, if you’re given the chance?
I can’t actually imagine it right now. The ending to Rise of SkywalkerRise of the Skywalker? The Rise of Skywalker — sorry, jet lag — it’s very satisfying. It felt like an end. I don’t know what’ll happen in however many years. There are so many characters in the Star Wars world who’ve never been explored. There’s so much for the filmmakers to work on. So right now, I don’t think so. But who could say, really? An opportunity might present itself. I love how the movie hasn’t come out and people are like, “What about going forward?” [Laughs.] Right now, it feels like a really nice full stop on the Skywalker series.

Yup, you'd think that they would dedicate the interview to her and character but... Nope, they had to ask her about Adam and his body [face_sick] I don't think they would have asked the same question to John or Oscar

I'm just curious, why does she say it's disrepectful to call him like that?

I think she's probably not comfortable with objectifying him like that.

It would bug me enough if they were asking constantly about Kylo, but this is even worse. Here and that shirtless Kylo/Shakespeare mask are more about Adam. It's like they're all 12 year old Adam fan girls, and they don't get that his coworker might not be. (I'm sure she adores him as a friend, but I doubt she's googling shirtless photos of him).

Also, can you imagine someone interviewing Adam and asking him about Daisy's body?

Indeed in both cases it just came out of nowhere. For the picture I was like "Ok, it's a weird thing to do but at least they didn't bother her with questions about Kylo". But not only this last interviewer asks her about Adam's body, but they make it the main subject of the article: "
We Asked Daisy Ridley to Describe Adam Driver’s Big-ness, and Other Questions"

She was basically here to promote her new movie Ophelia, but it's in the "other questions" category. Adam's big-ness is waayyy more interesting apparently, duh. The worst is the fake reason they invoked: the article they wrote about Adam is not focused so much on his physical appearence than on his huge... talent and cinematographic career.

I wonder how frustrating it is for her to be asked/teased about Adam's chest in pretty much every single interview she does.

True since Celebration it must be three times that Adam's shirtless appearance is brought up lol She must curse RJ for having the idea of this stupid scene.

Might not be frustrating at all. She probably takes it all in good humour.

Only reason to find it frustrating would be if she was ever so slightly offended on his behalf or that it wasn't about her.

For one thing its disrespectful. Let's say you work hard on a group project and people constantly bombard you with questions about someone they are sexually attracted to just because you've worked closely with them. Would that not make you uncomfortable?

"how would you describe his size?"

That most certainly isn't a professional interview question unless you're interviewing a pornstar. The interview should have been about Daisy and not use her as a tool to heighten the interviewers erotic fantasy.

Isn't that just how these interviews work though. its not about being super professional. if you want that then go to broadway. you are gonna get lighthearted cheeky questions like that. and if Daisy doesn't know that then she will be in for a shock when after she finishes episode 9 and works on other projects and people continue to talk to her about Star Wars. and then she isn't like I'm offended that you keep talking about star wars when thats not the film I'm currently promoting.

Thats just part of the business though. she probably isn't feeling outraged.

It's a testament to how shallow this saga has turned out so far that it's been constantly reduced to a mindlessly stupid, awkward scene of the villain standing there half naked for absolutely no reason.

For a parallel, imagine if every time Brie Larson was interviewed, people brought up how supposedly hot Jude Law is. That wouldn't happen though, because Brie Larson plays the protagonist in a hero's journey that isn't about the whiney angst of a half naked
    villain

I haven't seen Captain Marvel but i assume there isn't a shot of Jude Law standing in front of Brie Larson topless with a noticeable unexpected phasic. if that was the case and it was notable then yeah you probably would get her questioned about it.

You can't really create an alternative example if there isn't one to make.

I would find the question offensive. I would take it as, oh, that’s what you think of me and my intellect and talent? It’s not as important as whether I find a guy attractive?

The fact that that dumb scene isn't in Captain Marvel is the entire point of my post. TLJ has that scene because it's shallow and phony and not about Rey.

And people wonder why people like me go so hard at what they (and who the 'they' are) did in TLJ (and some of the past SW movies with Lucas). Nobody should wonder. And not that I'm foisting all the responsibility off the interviewers and their unprofessionalism. All setting the cause of women in the industry back another hundred years.
