And I'm pretty sure that both Loan and Daisy are going to continue being good friends with John who was there with them on set for all these films, had their back when others drove them off social media and continues to have their back over a bunch of exploitative comments from people who don't know them, weren't there for them, and are only using them to further their own narrative.

The guy said there would be a lot of hurt fans out there and Daisy said maybe there's redemption. But her point still stands - she's not a reylo shipper. And her reasoning was: "because he's killed too many people".

I think her point is that Reylo was dark side and bad for her character and a worry for her character but ReyBen is different and wasn’t.

If it helps, she plainly states her point. Due to "all the people he has killed", "I can't really get behind [ReyLo], no". And, that's ok. You and Rian's mum think they make a sweet couple. It doesn't matter if others don't align with our personal fandom.

This is exactly how I see it. JJ Abrams put everything into that sequence. He used Leia Organa, Han Solo (yes him the guy we thought was done with Star Wars) both Rey & Kylo. That scene was the turning point of the entire sequel trilogy and film in regards to Ben Solo

I say this without any sarcasm or irony: rather than watch another film featuring Rey, I'd be more excited if Respawn made a J:FO style video game where she's the protagonist. I think even after a trilogy of films, LFL still isn't entirely sure how to transition the character from concept to screen. A period of experimentation in other mediums could help them a lot.

Daisy's facial expression when asked about her reaction. She cried when it was over and had to watch Friends to unwind. "I'm assuming you cried because you loved it?" DEFLECT, PIVOT!!!!

One question I need answered is if Rey is so powerful Examples- stopping ships in mid-air and jumping over speeding ships, force healing and so on, why couldn't she force jump out of some quicksand?

Great point. Some thoughts on this :

I feel that character is not only crucial in which side you pick, but also which Force powers abilities you develop/discover and to what extend. This applies to all Force users, and especially to Rey for all the reasons you mention.

It's like music. The melodies one creates depend on the talent, the training, the work put into it, and character. The soul. There are thousands of Force abilities, undiscovered, as there are thousands of melodies waiting to be played. There are myriads ways of playing a scale, as there is so much depth in each Force ability.

Take Qui-Gon for example. His characted and his approach to follow the living force, led him to retaining his identity after death. The great Yoda hadn't discovered this technique after living hundreds of years, and became his student. This doesn't take anything away from Yoda, as comfortably numb by Gilmour doesn't retcon Mozart's genius.

Rey being a healer, is in perfect alignment with what she been through, and this is why your post struck a cord (to keep up with the analogy). As you point out, she spent night after night being hungry, in direct contrast to what thousands of Jedi younglings experienced before her. Such experiences, as stated in cannon, are considered to be of paramount significance, for the Jedi.

The Jedi council initially rejected Qui-Gon proposal about Anakin's training. They said no, because he was too old. The Jedi Council clearly believed, that the crucial early years of one's life, during which much of the character is formulated, have a tremendous impact to the individual and what he will do with the Force. So much so, that one should not be allowed to train. Applies to Anakin, applies to Rey, applies to all.

Rey has incredible raw power, works hard, and above all, she has a unique character shaped by deprivation. Also, lack of typical training means the absence of a mold, which is not necessary bad, as for what a genius can do without formal education, I think Ramanujan is a fine example.

Great analogy. I can't add much but when you look at Rey's living conditions in comparison you see a person who overcame much, and just as in life, it probably affected how she wanted to employ the Force.

Well, hope people aren't sick of Rey, because Abrams claims Ridley is in nearly every scene in The Rise of Skywalker and Ridley claims she has more lines than before. I expect her screen time to be more like Anakin in II and III if not Solo in the Solo movie here. Ridley said before she worked an exhaustive schedule. The character's screen time got hacked down in the last movie (as did Finn's to a greater extent) despite the longer run time so there's ground to me made up in the aggregate.

In the other two, looking back at them, I think Rey is being told to do certain things. She’s being told ‘you’re this and this is your journey'. In this film, she’s asking questions so there’s already growth. She’s finding her feet and curious about things, not because someone else told her to be but because she’s asking the questions."
