ST Daisy Ridley (Rey) in Episode VII

If Daisy does well in the ST, and I'm sure she will, I'd like to see her get her own spinoff, Star Wars: The Revenge of Pondo Baba

 

Totally newbie here but thought I'd have to post.

I was at stage school with Daisy around three years ago. While not a close friend I was lucky enough to see her act in various productions (She's a cracking singer too).

I'm a huge Star Wars fan and have been since I was a wee lad so you can imagine my surprise when I eagerly looked at the casting.

Take my word for it Daisy won't disappoint. She has the absolute fire of a Skywalker in her eyes, she can be fiercely brave and vulnerable in a mere sentence. Audiences at school were absolutely enthralled by her performances. She possesses the balls and fire of Leia while the compassion and astuteness of Padme. I have no doubt she'll be playing Han and Leia's daughter.

All I can say is watch out for Ms Ridley. I couldn't feel like the part was in a safer pair of hands.

I have a good feeling about Daisy; and this reinforces that.

 

Ha. Can't quite picture her playing the Tatooine equivalent of a village idiot either. Be a terrible waste

 

Please let there not be any village idiot characters in the ST.

Looking forward to seeing where and how Daisy (and Boyega for that matter) fit into Episode VII and the trilogy as a whole. I think their arcs will lead to them ultimately being the focus of IX but it'll be a gradual ascent. For me personally I think Daisy will be the one and only Solo child.

"The last Star Wars" comment could have just been short hand for the last Star Wars Trilogy.

At least I hope it does.

 

I think the more productive question is who the the elusive third one is. Everyone knows that Boyega and Ridley are leads.

I also want to know why its been so hard to pin down...

There are no leads, just an ensemble.

No, in an earlier post Lucasfilm said there would be a "trio of new young leads and some familiar faces".

Boyega and Ridley were listed first in the casting announcement, which is evidence towards them being two of the three. Adam Driver was listed as third, perhaps he's good in VII and turns to the dark side for his "villain" role?

 

In Silent Witness she had a big part. The way the show works, each episode someone dies. There's the usual crime investigation team in every episode, but each episode also focuses on the loved ones of the victim, usually one in particular. Daisy was the one in particular, for two episodes in a row. So it wasn't just a few throwaway lines in one single scene.

 

She is a lead. Don't see were that says the main lead. Just says Lead. She a lead with Boyega. The difference is most articles and rumors have Boyega playing a Luke type character.

The Wrap said it was Issac. Of course some have dismissed it as none sense.

Yeah, does give that cast listing more credence. Since both Boyega and Daisy were list 1-2.

 

I thought the Wrap only said he was playing a "hero." I do not remember them specifying he was playing a lead.

 

He was called a lead in an article I seem to remeber. I could be wrong and it was Variety or some thing,but I know one of the main trades called him a lead.

 

The only site that I think called him a lead was deadline before the official casting announcement. I don't remember any other trade doing that. In all honesty, I don't think any of them know.
