Discussion Daisy Ridley (Rey Skywalker) in Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s Star Wars film

Each trilogy has featured a new set of main characters with the older characters in mentor roles so I assume this one will be no different. Rey in a mentor role to a new Jedi character. I just hope she doesn’t die.

I’d be all for that. They have fantastic chemistry

 

I doubt they're bringing back Ridley just for a mentor role, she's still more than capable of leading future movies.

 

Yes the difference here is Daisy is still young. In previous films the main actors were older. So how much they could do was limited.

 

Of course she is but this is just how the Saga films work. A new generation taking the lead. Doesn’t mean she won’t have a large role. I assume John and Oscar will also be back and have large roles.

What I'd give to see Rey "take Finn's hand".

 

If they’re going to do this, then I hope the Galaxy is in a very different place from what we’ve seen before. And the new new Jedi Order looks very different from what has come before as well.

A new kind of threat as well.

Finally move things forward.

 

I am really glad they are continuing Rey's story

 

Those people have been wrong about pretty much everything so far that I don't think many are going to pay attention to them anylonger. They have been harping on for years now about how Disney was abandoning the ST. Clearly that isn't happening.

 

I'm def not a fan of the ST BUT, I loved Ridley in the movies and Rey. Def my favorite character from the ST. I think this has a solid chance to do well with different writers and having the setting many years after the ST. We will see. I'm excited for it.

 

I wonder if they get Mark back as FG Luke?

Maybe Rosario as Ahsoka even?

 

Ahsoka would be 86 years old.

I still remember seeing her Jakuu-scavenger debut in TFA all those years ago and thinking, “We’ve never seen this character before, but she seems very familiar, I think she has an incredible adventure ahead of her.” Great to see that adventure continue

 

I feel like Star Wars fandom is doomed to always dwell on the things they hate. First the special editions killed Star Wars. Then the prequels ruined Star Wars. Now the sequel trilogy ruined Star Wars.

I've learned just to tune it out. Even though I have my criticisms of the ST, I still enjoyed it overall. Not as much as the OT or PT, but I still dug it. Really rooting for this one to succeed and show us the rebirth of the Jedi order!

 

Sadly, most SW fans don't listen to the teachings of the Jedi they worship and seem to dwell in the dark side unknowingly.

 

Force ghost Luke and/or Ben Solo would be cool.

Im happy for Daisy. Even if the character of Rey has problems, she’s a good actress and deserves another shot at this.

 

For me I started seeing it with the Rose Tico Character people picking on her Asian culture or the fact she is a woman or any female character in the new movies Star Wars picked on just for being women and Kathleen Kennedy always getting flack and she is doing a great job people forget about the great shows and Movies I loved every star wars movie so far!

 

I wonder if we see older Grogu here as well. Yoda lived to be almost a millennia old after all.

 

I am very happy and excited. But I have to admit that I was hoping for some decades of peace and justice in the Galaxy. Come on, the Rebels and Resistance fighters deserve that. And now I highly doubt that they make a Star Wars movie just with Rey establishing new Jedi without a (big) threat.

 

Darth Plagiarism will return as the big bad.

 

I am fine with this as long as Finn is present as co-protagonist, and is also a Jedi Master at this point.
