Well that puts to bed all the Wah Disney are too afraid to go near the ST BS. Ultimately though I don’t think Rey will be the lead in this film though.

And Rey ain’t gonna be pregnant. They won’t ignore the attachment rule. Let alone off screen like it was nothing.

Hamill probably won’t appear because Rey is probably filling that spot now.

Really? You think they brought Ridley back to be a supporting character/mentor figure?

I feel like Rey is the only "new" sequel character who could be salvaged to write a new film on. The rest are so annoyingly dumb.

Rey's staff saber in the new movie best be yellow double bladed, it was double bladded in early episode IX production that would be dope. (Battlefront II made it single blade, booo). Also it used to be a freaking staff, she knows how to use it that way

That's the only thing I require from this. Rest do whatever you want. Seriously though a whole movie of double blade lightsaber antics, it would be so cool.

I normally like dead characters to stay dead, but this would be one of those exceptions. I'd welcome this with open arms.

Plus it’s 2023. Pregnancy is seen as delicate, while strong women are free from that.

I do yes. They marketed Hayden In the Obi wan show and he was barely in it. In retrospect if Ridley is in it more than Hayden was in Obi Wan, then yeah.

I think the ST were her movies. She is now that kinda Luke Skywalker in the Mandalorian type role. She will have a glorified role either way.

I’m not invested in the idea of Rey having kids, but nothing about pregnancy is “delicate”—any portrayal of it as such is a deliberate, bad-stereotype choice (like Mara complaining about her ankles in the NJO or Padme dying of sadness in ROTS), and strong women have children on a regular basis.

And I, too, would welcome a Gandalf the White return for Luke.

I just want the new Jedi to feel different.

And yes, ditching the No Attachment thing would play into that imo.

Speaking about pregnancy in general, it is NOT delicate. It’s just often now been portrayed well before in SW honestly.

I mean Hera from Rebels is a mother and she’s a badass.

It’s delicate because pregnant women have more than 1 life to look after. And that life is weaker and can ultimately affect her life from inside her. So she can’t be kicking too much butt while pregnant. And she can’t be having people concerned for her health when she is a strong women.

while if she is not pregnant she is free of all that concern.

Not that I think Rey will be pregnant in the movie, but I just want to point out that James Cameron had Kate Winslet play a pregnant warrior alien in Avatar: The Way of Water, and she kinda kicked ass.

But when you see a pregnant women in a fight, ain’t you always concerned for her well being? Even if she kicks butt. You know that any mistake or damage could ultimately be worse.

I hope we see a small jedi order, 10 or less.

I would also like Luke to have a small role as a force ghost, maybe a flashback.

Yup to that. It would be nice to find the right balance. No attachment, no politics, no kidnapping.

I’ve been pregnant two more times than you have. Don’t try to ‘splain it.

Cool. So don’t have the ‘splaining patronizing stereotyping characters “concerned for her health.”

Outside of abnormally complicated pregnancies, if we could miss all that nonsense in real life, that would be great.

Is she really? The bad stereotypes of women would still prevail.

All that said, maybe Rey should get pregnant and then get a GFFA abortion due to not wanting to be pregnant, and then let a certain population’s heads explode on the Internet.

Why did this turn to Rey the mom? She's a Jedi, she has more important cosmic concerns than mundane breeding. I watch a Star War to see Jedi do Jedi @!%# not space prenatal vitamins

Also, I think Star Wars hasn't really explored what a Jedi ghost/spirits are capable of. This could be a cool opportunity. Rey and Luke rebuilding the Jedi order has the potential to be very satisfying.

    @Daxon101
I get it. Yet, Ewan McGregor was announced as the primary/central character as the show called Obi-Wan ? Wasn't Hayden as Vader revealed later and featured/treated as like a bonus attraction?

Today's announcement makes it sound like this new movie will be centered around Ridley/Rey. No?

Great to see Daisy Ridley back in the SW universe. And something post-ST.

A few posts popped up about Rey’s kid.

As I said, I can go either way, either Rey being childless or Rey being another Hera Syndulla, who also had important cosmic concerns.

I'm interested to learn more and excited for this one. The earliest I see it releasing is December 2028.
I've wanted more Rey content, especially post-IX. I'm glad Daisy is back.
Finn really should come back, but I don't feel Poe as is essential (though I want to see him).
While I ideally think the Jedi should've ended with Luke or Rey, I hope Rey's Order is way different than the prequel era Jedi. I'd like to have the Jedi unaffiliated with the main galactic government, and less centralized.
