Thanks took me 2 years to complete it. And it was the same with me. I have fallen in love with the costume when I watched Episode IV when I was 3 or so (mid 80ies).

I will buy a ROTS suite myself. I preordered the MR helmet, and a friend of mine has a cool ROTS armour I will buy later.

I agree with all the others, that every helmet has its own pros and cons. You won't get a 100 % accurate suite and helmet, because there were many in use in every film (even ROTS!), for different shots or scenes.

I need some help with a question about the lights in the chestbox and belt and was hoping to get some advice. I have access to a soldering iron but have absolutely no idea how to make the circuit connecting the lights to the battery. I also want to put a switch in there and heard that I need to use a resistor as well . Can anyone help me out with a wiring diagram of some kind?

Rogan...hmmmmm....that doesn't look like JB's ROTJ....I think it is the South American produced helmet, I think there's one on ebay now....hard to say....still a nice one tho...

I asked the person I bought it from and he could not tell me what it was. He got them from a guy in Canada.

Hey guys, I sent an email to JB asking for info on a helmet and received a reply. PM me for info.

I am not really sure who this guy is (cantina dude); Do you guys know if this is legit? Is he saying that he'll be making the helmet? What do you think? I've been leaning torward the ESB. Have any of you been able to look at both the ANH and ESB in person to compare. I know it's a bit subjective but, any opinions on whats a better lid as far as accuracy and look go. All I have is pics; makes it hard to choose.

One more thing....Now that I'm convinced I can do an authentic Vader costume, I'm thinking Boba Fett and Stormtropper. Do any of you guys have any experience? I'm not hijacking this thread, Still VADER, just curious.

 

Yes, JB is legit.

As for a stormtrooper... I used to own a set of armor FX. I'm planning on getting another as a back-up for 501st events when there already another Vader. Its the armor that like 99% of the 501st wears.

Fett might be a project for next year for me

darthjim1-lets see your helmet so far, it sounds interesting, I've seen helmets done with pvc, styrene, yours is the first I've heard that is made of cereal boxes for the base....

Saber Holder- Do you have any pics of your costume so far, it sounds like its really comming along....

 

I'm hoping someone can help me get some information.
I have what I was told is an ANH Darth Vader tour helmet that I purchased at a Sci Fi/collectible show in 1991-1992.
I sent extensive photos of my piece recently to what many would consider to be a website expert on this subject. They are trying to tell me my helmet is a two year old resculpt by CKing aka "Ghosthost". They are not considering any other options as to its origins. It is not two years old, I KNOW I purchased it thirteen years ago. But they seem to be convinced it is new.
Is there anyone out here that may help shed some light on the origin of this piece or refer to me to someone?
I need a real expert. Any help will be appreciated.

Well....first off CKing isn't GH...two different people....
I would post a pic of your helmet at the RPF and have some of the experts analyze it.....you may find that they will either identify it right away or debate its origins for days....the thing is about Vader helmets that there are so many casts and variations thereof that sometimes it's almost impossible to be 100% certain of lineage....but give it a shot...

post a pic here as well...I'd be interested in seeing it....

His other helmets rock, but I really want the big ROTJ dome.
