Comics Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith #19-25: Fortress Vader (7/7 Released)

Ok, theory time! So at the end of the Dying Light Arc, we saw Luke finding Nu's holocron collection. What if at the end of this arc, we see Snoke get his ring from Vader's castle since that's what his ring is made from. It's like poetry, it rhymes.

 

No I doubt Snoke will appear in anything for at least 2020

 

I don’t see that happening right now either. I’d say there is a greater chance Snoke had more to do with Sidious. And even then, I’m assuming it was from a distance.

 

I give it a 10% chance of happening . They won't do anything with the ST characters until IX is close to coming out or after its out. This is why I'll be surpised if Kylo is in Resistance season 1 and will be looking closely at the Age of .... series cause once its suppost to have a kylo centric issue and if u look at any of the current nu canon and the reylo theories (they usually have good write ups even if their ship doesn't pan out ) They'll realized that the writers of everything have deliberately hid Kylo's Pov and only gave a few insights into snoke across all media so far . Snoke getting his Ring at the end of this arc would be too much of a shift from barley any focus to actually showing events with him. This is the same reason why we haven't heard /seen whatever snoke did to Our first supreme leader Rae solane

 

You know what would be cool. If Palpatine did that magic thing that he did to fight Yoda and Anakin in the simulation in Clone Wars; he does it with Snoke; defeats him and Snoke slithers off waiting in the Unknown Regions to lick his wounds.

 

They can fly because they have hover properties built into the circle.

That was a very interesting issue. I'm excited to see more of Lord Momim. Shame the colonel died, she was interesting. Also, I loved the use of Mustafarians and seeing their culture. Very cool.

 

Do we see any of the lava fleas that were in Secrets of the Empire VR experience?

 

Are they different from the lava fleas seen in ROTS? Because there's a panel of them, at least.

 

No they're the exact same ones you see in ROTS. They're just int he background though.

Did those two Imperials die when they entered the atmosphere without shields on? That would be weird.

Oh okay. I guess lowering the shields was just Vader being nuts which is very common in this series

I'm guessing Vader took down the shileds on the Nubian because he was a piece of Anakin Skywalker's past and because of that it needed to burn like he did so that it could become "worthy" of belonging to Vader

Makes sense, but I thought was confused at first because I thought Phasma's armor came from that ship but then I did some research to find that it came from a different Naboo yacht owned by Palpatine.

I'm assuming it's a different yacht and not the Imperialis from the Lando [2015] comic.

I understood that he wanted the ship to look as removed as possible from anything that could bring him the painful memories from his earlier life. Makes sense to me (and lucky for C-3PO and R2-D2 not to stick around after Mustafar!).

The issue itself was quite intriguing. Momin´s mask taking over the imperial officer and designing the Castle was a particularly terrifying moment, and I just really appreciate to get Vader and the Emperor´s interactions, again. The reasons for Vader wanting Mustafar are really, as Palpatine says, perfect Sith like.

If the arc will end up with the Fortress finished, I imagine there will be significant time gaps between some issues, but it´s very interesting not to know when those will come... and how long will take to build the Castle, either!

I don't look at the solicits as they contain spoilers, so I can truly say that I have NO idea what's going to happen in the remaining 4 issues. I wonder if the Mustafarian species are going to be wiped out / pose some sort of threat since we do get a panel naming two of them: KKKT and ZZZS.
Or if we'll leave Mustafar for an issue or two and come back when the fortress is finished.

Vader burned the Nubian in this issue but if I remember correctly in the Aphra comics it's shiny again?

It's glossy black in Aphra, so I think this is meant to explain how it got that way from being gleaming chromium. We're seeing it freshly-cooked here, after all.

REALLY?? Man thats awesome but I doubt its really him. Sith can't become spirits, so I'm thinking its an echo like a holocron gatekeeper or some kinda of weird Sithy tech

 

The dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities, some considered to be unnatural. Sith can leave behind their presence when they die, though they cannot maintain their consciousness and project avatars of themselves. Their passions are so powerful that they transcend death through their belongings, which can corrupt people who possess them. The two examples we have in canon are Darth Atrius' lightsabers and Darth Momin's helmet. Another example was Leia sensing Maul's presence in Shattered Empire, though that was not tied to an object and could be credited to Leia's force potential.
My theory on this phenomenon is that the Sith are materialistic by nature. They do not believe in life after death, so they go about acquiring whatever they can in their life times to display their wealth, influence and power. The dark side permeates off sith lords into these objects, allowing for echoes of their life and personality to continue despite their body and consciousness dying.

I found it rather boring actually. What happened to the woman? Why didn't we see her get shot? Why was she sent with Vader if Lord Moomin (lol) was to design the castle?

It ain't that deep. First, she got shot, why is that hard to understand? Second why didn't we see her get shot? That's not a big deal. Third, I doubt Vader or maybe even Palpatine knew that Lord Momim was posessing the mask. Momim wants to make the castle himself, not some third-rate imperial.
