    Bad news?

After seeing how Disney/LFL messed up so badly the ST, I'm pleased at how SW has now recovered from that failure. The auteur/individual director vision approach to SW was a grave mistake I'm happy to see rectified.

The mistake assuption is that Filoni is now in charge. Which is not the case. He still works under KK.

The devil most definitely creates new positions and hires people in them :p
These news do not eliminate the possibility of KK being the devil, though I personally don't believe in these fairytales.
Now, has she ruined a very important part of Star Wars? Well, that's another question.

Kathy’s legacy might end up being . . . Dave. I’m fine with that, because that’s George’s legacy too

Kathleen Kennedy Legacy will be one of mixed feelings, she made some bad decisions and some good decisions. And in the process people hate her and like her for it...

The topic of this thread isn’t Kathleen Kennedy’s legacy nor is it Filoni’s legacy for that matter. It’s about his upcoming film so let’s get back on topic please.

If you’re interested in his legacy go open a thread in the Lucasfilm forum or another appropriate area. But here we’re discussing this film specifically. Please don’t make me repeat the warning a third time.

I fear his upcoming film (like his TV series) will be childish and shallow...

Me and the fellas, wearing our cowboy hats and custom printed “The Future Is Filoni” t-shirts at the midnight opening, when we see Executive Producer: Kathleen Kennedy in the credits.

Recently Filoni has said that anyone can become a jedi because the force is in every living thing. Now i see that as a flawed concept that creates alot of questions that don't really add up when it comes to how the jedi work and how they worked. If anyone can become a jedi then why isn't everyone and anyone trained, it sorta makes the jedi seem lazy and its the only thing Filoni has said that makes me sorta concerned with how his mind works when it comes too his his future work.

If he is saying thats why Sabine can use the force, then honestly i don't consider that decision one of his most well-thought-out ones. Its sorta up there with introducing force healing and whatever.

I agree. And the way he said “if you pay attention to the films…” kind of irked me. If he paid attention to the films, he’d see things showing that some have a much stronger disposition towards Force sensitivity, like:
    - The discussions of midichlorians.
    - Palpatine being very concerned about “the son of Skywalker” becoming a Jedi (someone from that lineage, not just a random person).

Perhaps, but he’s just talking about possibility. Given that the force is in everything and everyone, yes, it’s possible for anyone to tap into the force like a Jedi. That possibility, on the other hand, is greater for those who are more fortunate in terms of circumstance - whether that’s social or (problematically, IMO) genetic. So there’s nothing terribly controversial about what he’s saying. He’s just getting back to the basics. Where tapping into the force is synonymous with tapping into your unconscious instincts. And that’s what Star Wars should be doing. Moving away from the midichlorian mistake, which communicates exclusivity and inborn superiority, and presenting a more universal message of human potential. While in-world, still making it difficult, and rare, for people to become Jedi.

There is absolutely nothing shallow about any of his TV series. You are not using this word correctly. Perhaps you wanted to use the word "simple" or "simplistic" instead. If his messages were promoting a reality where people care more about looks or money or fame and status, then maybe his TV series would have been shallow.

And when it comes to childish.... That's also a word that has a very different meaning than the phrase "for kids" in this specific context. I personally prefer Star Wars when it has messages for kids, and there's nothing wrong with Star Wars when it's like that.
