I was most concerned about Blade when the time eating monster showed up but apparently he's alright.

"There's only ever going to be one Blade!" Preach it, Wesley!

anyway very spoilery comic-con screening event walk ons afterwards

so was the Punisher Rocket Launcher from this one?

Also did Laura kill the red and white striped sailor guy from Tom Jane's Punisher?

Fun movie. Wished the cameos were in it till the end as it would fit the theme of Wade finding his own Avengers team but was still a fun time at the movies. It's not nearly as good as DP1 or 2 though imo on the story/characterization front. The way this Logan's XMen get killed also makes no sense but whatever.

People who spoil, who post pics and thumbnails that spoil before you can even have a chance to make a choice, are the freaking worst.

Saw it, had a great time with it - and I think if you like Deadpool, or Wolverine (maybe especially Wolverine), you are going to have a great time. I can't suggest you see it unspoiled, if at all possible, strongly enough. Just FYI, my wife enjoyed it too, and while she has a fair amount of basic comic book knowledge (living with me all those years!), she isn't as into all the background stuff nearly as much...and I mention that only because I wondered how the movie would play to someone who wouldn't necessarily find some of the cameos and Easter eggs as impactful or funny. So I think the movie works, generally.

I'd say more but then I'm gonna be ultra cautious, even with the SPOILER tag, and just say - a LOT of fun!

PS - I know for some, "fan service" (the current meaning, not the old school meaning) and "key jangling" have negative connotations, but I have to disagree in some cases. To me, knowing fans would love or want certain things, or have waited a long time, and then giving those things to them? Well executed? I think that's great. And there are some wonderful moments like that in this movie.

This is why I tell people to stay off social media and YouTube before a film or show release. This is the same BS that happened for years on the message boards like this one. People are either inconsiderate or dicks.

Haven’t seen yet, not sure if I will in the theater and I accidentally stumbled into a big cameo spoiler posted by the actor themselves. Very happy for this person and I know I will cheer when I see them in the movie.

Looking forward to seeing it at some point. Have fun everyone.

That was a really good film. Honestly, as well, they managed to pack just a ton of emotional heavy-lifting in there as well.

That during-credit BTS stuff with the entire Foxverse legit made me tear up. And everything with X-23 and Logan.

And holy **** was I not expecting Wesley Snipes in there! THAT. WAS. AWESOME.

For my money, I wasn't expecting Happy -- but it makes sense as I believe he and Reynolds are the only two large characters to cross-over from FOX MCU to Disney MCU as different people (Foggy and... other Deadpool respectively). If they're putting the final nail in the FOX coffin, it was absolutely fitting.

I think I saw terrible-Cap's bike shield, and TV Hulk's Thor helmet in the Void -- I'm sure there are an absolute ton of other easter eggs like that though.

And I never get tired of Reynolds making Blake Lively jokes about how hot his wife is (much like Jerry O'Connell's jokes about Commander Una on Lower Decks).

About a song in the film

the N'Sync youtube channel renamed all their Bye Bye Bye vids as "From Deadpool and Wolverine." That whole scene is amazing I kinda want to see it again just for that

Wow, really fun time. I was impressed by how much they didn't manage to spoil in the trailers (outside of X-23, which is decently significant). Outside of the street slow-mo shot, and the shot of Cassandra in the machine, I think everything else in the trailers is entirely in the first hour of the film (with at least 6-8 supporting characters not even hinted at in them).

Also, plenty of fun music bits (and the only minor one I'll "spoil" is from early in the film, where we finally get one of the two AC/DC songs that Iron Man 3 should have used in its end credits 11 years ago into an MCU film, even if it has nothing to do with Iron Man in the context it is used in).

That said, the film goes very 4th-wall, and plays up the entrance of a lot of cameos to the point where they become jokes instead of emotional moments. But not to the point where the overall tone runs into Joe Kelly obnoxious silliness territory (thankfully!). And it does do a good job of anchoring moments with the serious pathos associated with both characters (they're just spread out too far, IMO). So it does manage to illicit teary eyes and pins and needles towards the end (and through the credits).

On the flipside, Paradox's expositional antagonism, the villain’s plot being appropriately Foxverse simple, and the heavy lean into the aforementioned playing-up of moments instead of building them hold the film back from being as perfect as its predecessors. But Hugh is flawless, Ryan is undeniably Wade incarnate, and Peter is amazing. Can't complain too much.

Oh! Have to point out that, not only was it great to see an MCU film in 3D again, they actually did a really good job with it here- including aspect ratio frame breaks and one other later cameo flying around shots. There's also an absolutely stunning shot of the two main characters emerging over the crest of a large hill or mountain with the lower ground in the distance that really shows off the impact of the format when used properly beyond just gimmicks.

It's an enjoyable tribute to the Foxverse, but I can see why the directors and Feige were saying that this isn't Deadpool 3 as a byproduct. I'd probably rank it hird for the Deadpool movies, though. And maybe somewhere in the mid-tier for the MCU as a whole.

And now, maybe, just maybe, after weeks and weeks, I may finally be able to get that Madonna song out of my head. Nah who am I kidding?

Fun little BTS anecdote about that here as well:

But, now, onto the important stuff:
I know it could have just been a dig at Doctor Strange... but what if the "amateur magician" was literally an amateur magician?

That would be a hilarious bookend to that character...

Deadpool's expression at the "only one Blade" line was pretty good too. And now we have XMO: Gambit joining Nic Cage Superman in the realm of unrealized superhero film characters materializing just 13 months apart from one another...

    "Thor!"

Yes and yes- the latter was seen in the first trailer, in Casandra's compound.

There was also XMA Blob as the lookout tower guy

By far the best cameo for me, that was completely unexpected, was

Age of Apocalypse Wolverine. It actually took me a moment to understand that that was real (also had to rule out initial alternate potential dystopian future options such as DOFP before it became clear what was going on).

One of the things that I think is pretty amazing with the DEADPOOL movies in general is, for all the jokes and digs and insults and mockery, there is usually an actual sincere emotional core.

SERIOUSLY, don't read further if you haven't seen the movie yet!

This obviously applies to the Wolverine storyline, but I was so happy to see that the "Void Avengers" or whatever weren't ultimately treated as jokes. Sure, there was a lot of fun at their expense when introduced, especially Gambit, but then they got some real "hero moments" , which was a pleasant surprise. That's an example of what I mean -- for movies in which no one gets a pass from being the butt of jokes, in general there's a surprisingly sentimental, affectionate core.

I also thought She-Hulk guy but it could just be Cassandra being condescending towards a Strange or Wong variant that ended up there. I guess she learned how to portal with her finger trick

Just saw Deadpool & Wolverine. I liked it. It’s the weakest of the three Deadpool movies, but the best mcu movie we’ve had in a good while. It handles its cameos with more care than Multiverse of Madness did (though I don’t hate that movie as much as everyone else did). End credit sequence was very emotional.

I guess my only major complaint is that there were a bunch of continuity errors, though I guess that’s always been the case with most of the Fox-era films.

Thing is, Cassandra can't do her mind stuff without physical contact. I don't really understand how she could have defeated beings as powerful as Strange or Magneto unless they were stupid enough to get close (and both can fly/levitate to be easily out of reach).

    Also

How was she able to withstand being shot & stabbed?

Her telekinesis doesn’t need close contact, and seems to be at Phoenix-level strength and in her complete control on a near surgical level. The way she kills her first on-screen victim feels like a pretty specific demonstration of where Magneto or most other mutants would fall to her.

    As for her other ability:

The implication is that she has a healing factor dependent on her mind powers as well, probably just reusing her telekinesis on a cellular level.

    Well Nova
is like a space parasite or something who is generally presented as older but she says that the TVA put her there "Before I could walk" so she is probably a rare variant. We don't actually know what universe she came from but if they bring her back they should totally use Corin again even if it turns out she'll be probably decades younger than MCU Charles but it can be explained away

Anyway here's yet another reference by the creative team that if they do another film they'd want to go up against Tom Holland's Spider-Man (would probably have to chat with Sony about that but after the bank D&W makes they'd probably be open to it)

“If I could pick one, I’d love to play with Spider-Man,” Reynolds replied. “Tom Holland is amazing.”
Jackman added, “I agree. He’s so cool. That would be great. And he’s young. We could pile on him and abuse him. You know, just yell at him.”

If that pans out and this franchise somehow becomes a cinematic incarnation of Deadpool Team-Up (the one Deadpool spin-off comic from his peak late-00's/early-10's era that got cancelled for low sales, despite being awesome), I will laugh my ass off for ten days straight.

Add to that that the Deadpool Corps is still out there (after giving us, effectively, a whiff of a riff on Deadpool Kills Deadpool), we just need a Headpool origin story in the Marvel Zombies universe (come on, What If? what are you waiting for?!) to make everything perfect and fully realize the Merc With a Mouth series that was contemporary to Deadpool Corps and Deadpool Team-Up.

Sidenote: the one thing they need to still give us is Ryan's Wade reciting the Deadpool Corps oath- which is, itself, a parody of the Green Lantern Corps oath.

"Through lightest dark or darkest light,
You dont need no bling to join the fight.
We're mercs with mouths and so much more,
    Yippee-ki-yay, we're the Deadpool Corps!"

Seeing it a second time, Wade does say "Strange" after Cassandra's lines. So, while he could still be wrong (and it would be absolutely wonderful if he was- and plausible, as Wade isn't always omniscient), that does seem to convey the intent.

    I am bit surprised that
the Deadpool corps work for Cassandra, Wade generally has a good moral compass when it comes to what jobs he takes. "If I give someone a pavement facial I'll be sure they deserved it." Of course they all melted when they saw Peter anyway

    Ouch, man! [face_laugh]

Kelly did really make Deadpool a star, though. And he really pushed hard on the establishing the "Deadpool is silly! / Deadpool is actually dark, depressing and heartbreaking".

Although no one can touch Duggan on that, really.

    Deadppol & Wolverine:

"I did it for you. Even if you don't want me, I did it for you." WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I have a poddy mouth anyway, it's gonna be a lot worse for at least a week.

I'm not saying Chris Evans stole the show, but his post credits scene got the biggest laugh.
