BTW, I didn't mean to piss anyone off about the whole luminous being/crude matter thing. I was just discussing/kidding. And I have decided to jettison my two part article about it. Had very little to do with SW at the end of the day, and what was there was perhaps deviating too much from the text.

No trouble at all, like The_Abstract, I was looking forward to it. Throwing the match into the intellectual gasoline makes one think. I like the challenge.

On the Mythology of AOTC thread, there is some talk of creating a thread on the Theology of SW. There was even a discussion of the Pelgian Heresy, so I doubt your comments could be farther afield.

Appreciation of an utterly tragic tale, plus intellectual stimulation mixed with utter silliness, like the Qui-Gon Brownies and Yoda Cappuccino, is the recipie that makes this thread home.

I read I some other forum that all those who like the A/P love story don't know what love is.

They said something along the lines of he Anakin is a stalker.

Yeah right.

They don't know what true love is. But we do we can see that they love each other. Ever one eles well they just don't have a clue.

To everyone on the thread.... What do you all think about some monikers to express our devotion to a/p? I was thinking of the Latin phrase, "Amor vincit omnia"(love conquers all). In the Canterbury Tales, the Prioress wears an amulet with this attached to it which illustrates her devotion to courtly ideals. Of course this may not be appropriate for a prioress, but that's quite beside the point....

I have been on the love story thread in the AOTC forum and I see people there saying that Anakin and Padme are NOT in love with each other, that Anakin was desperate and obssessive with being together with Padme, and that Padme was NOT in love with Anakin because they think that she wasn't interested in him and she's only loving him just to feel sorry for him.

I think that is BS but how come none of you are defending the love story in that thread anymore?

 

Because it's become the "Evil" thread now?

A lot of us used to defend the love story there, but tired of it, unfortunately. We've battled those people you're referring to for some time, and since neither side is going to convince the other, there really is no point to engage them in discussion, at least IMO.

Hopefully, new defenders will arise and take our place!

EDIT: For my part, I wouldn't mind continuing to engage them in that conversation, but I've also become more and more preoccupied with fan fiction (reading and writing), so that has taken up a lot of my TF.N time!

I don't possess enough eloquence to challenge some of the skilled debaters in that thread. My technology and science background does not help me at all in that respect.

 

ON TV?? WHEN PLJ??? I DID SEE THAT THE ECO CHALLENGE WAS ON WTN LAST NIGHT , A CANADIAN FEED, BUT I DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO IT SO I COULD NOT SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. I CHECK THE WEB SITE WHERE THEY HAVE DAILY POSTINGS OF THE 'REAL' TEAMS BUT SINCE THERE ARE JUST FOUR CELEB TEAMS THAT ARE THERE FOR THE FUN OF IT, I DOUBT THE REPORTERS WHO ARE COVERING THE REAL GUYS WILL BE HAVING MUCH TO SAY ABOUT THE 'CELEB ' TEAMS..

 

OH DEAR.. There are 79 teams in the eco challenge and Anakin's team is ranked 79 as of Sat. Some teams are two checkpoints ahead of them. But of course we know they are having a lot of fun trekking through the jungle and laughing all the way!! They have some cool pics of the competition and the particpants in the gallery at the site..

 

I don't know if it's going to be on TV- it might get reshown later... who knows? Anyone?

Basically we're all tired of the namecalling, smallmindedness of those who like to sling mud over there. This is our sanctuary away from their narrow views. And I second Scruffys reason- been writing too much in my own fanfic to bother arguing with them.

 

I believe the Eco Challenge will be shown on tv around March 2003. It does not draw enough interest to be shown that quickly. Besides, Mark Burnett is also the creator of Survivor and that's his moneymaker!
