I think that clairvoyance is the earmark of the most
powerful Jedi/Force-wielders. There really is no evidence to that effect, other than us seeing powerful Jedi/Sith being clairvoyant. True that encompasses every major force-wielder in the Saga - but I think thats the point. GL created a Universe and is showing us its most intriguing and important people at the crucial time of that Universes' history.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Obi deflect one of Jango's shots with his hand right before the jump kick?

Well, if we can use EU; the more powerful Sith can transfer their souls after they die into various receptacles{sp?}, such as clones or the bodies of unborn infants.

That's Dark Empire, right? Weird stuff they do in the EU...

About clairvoyance, I agree. Even some "standard" Force powers, like blocking laser blasts with a sabre, seem to stem from foreseeing the future in some way.

Your right Spike, when you look at it like that, clairvoyance is a major building block in Jedi developement. I was wrong in saying that only the most powerful are clairvoyant.

I think even though they are a form of telekinesis, Force Push and Force Choke are still different powers. The same as lifting one object, like Maul does to open the door in TPM, and putting you arm out to have all the objects in the room fly at your opponent, like Vader does to Luke in ESB, are different powers.

Plus here's a new one, didn't Anakin use the force to calm the Reek in AOTC before he jumped on it.

    Mind trick/persuasion, that is.

But Maul does not appear to be directly moving an object, was my point. He is throwing energy at an object, and that energy causes the object to move.

Psychotic_sith your right about siths being able to "transfer" themselves inside humans and clones but it can be done to objects and buildings, like Exar Kun, an ancient sith master, did with a Massasi temple on Yavin IV. Also a jedi named Callista did this on a space ship named The Eye Of Palpatine.

Jedis and siths have super-human reflexes that allows them to deflect blaster bolts with their lightsabers, so it's not a separate skill.

I always thought that when Obi-Wan put his fingers on Luke's temples in ANH (and when he does the same to a dead Jedi in AotC), he was just looking for a pulse. Put your own fingers to your temples just like Obi-Wan did--the temples are very strong pulse-points, it's just that we usually test on the throat or wrist. It's an unusual way of doing an ordinary thing, making the GFFA seem a bit more alien, yet still familiar.

A Force power I haven't really noticed on this thread yet: Jedi also seem able to speed their thought processes to match the speed of their reflexes. Jedi can "think fast."

There is no definitive list of Force powers. Everything you can do can be enhanced through the Force. And that's how the Force works. It's not magic.

How did you forget the infamous Force Choke?

4LOM, what's the laser deflecting power you're referring to in ANH? I can't quite remember when that is.

I may have one to add to the list, but it's a long shot.

What about computer manipulation? In AOTC, Yoda says that only a Jedi could have erased the Archives' files about Kamino. Does that mean a Jedi could alter a computer's memory by using The Force, or use super-persuasion to make the people in charge of the Archives change them for him?
What can that line be interpreted as?

    B-Wingmasterburnz-

What I was referring to was blocking blaster shots with a lightsaber...which I guess is more intuition (knowing when and where someone is going to shoot at you) and lightning reflexes (the Force speeding up a person's movements). I think it happens in ANH when the two meanies hassle Luke in the Cantina, Obi-Wan steps in, one of the guys pulls a blaster on him, and I believe (though it's not really shown) the guy gets off a shot before Old Ben slices and dices. Old Ben deflected that shot (I imagine up into the ceiling or into the floor, otherwise it went into the crowd and killed an innocent drunken alien). You can hear the blaster shot sound effect, which makes me think the guy fired at Obi-Wan.

OK. What do you think of that computer idea I posted?

Obi-Wan also uses the Force to create a distraction the stormtroopers mistake for hot gases in ANH when he's trying to sneak out of the Tractor Beam room. I'm not entirely sure what that's about, but just thought I'd bring it up.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with this interpration, I think. It's more like a sixth sense and an enabling, perhaps to use that large chunk of your brain no one ever uses ;) Explanation aside, though, I think the Force shouldn't limited to any number of powers. It's not a video game where you have constrained uses. I think Jedi could be creative with their powers if they wanted to. But there are clearly some uses that are common.
