This diary ties in with the diary of Yoda's lightsabre for some time

The programm with the owl was popular with children and adults during many years.

Entry 46

After a long trip through hyperspace and many stops, Boyd had changed the identity of the ship into that of an Alderaan merchant-ship.
After five months of wandering through the Galaxy, we landed on the small spaceport of Alladea on Alderaan. Our merchant-ship was a dull brown ship and had two turrets with cannons attached to it. The hyperdrive-engines had been modified and an elaborate security-system was installed.

Boyd had seen to this and the credits: they were from Palpatine. Slicing the computer from Mori Sinna had produced the credits to do this with the assassin being the culprit who did this.

More investigations revealed that Chief Rosco and his teams were eliminated because they were found responsible for erasing most of the Jeditemple files on workers and Jedi. That virus of Kaagi had more influence than I thought, sneaking into the Jeditemple computers and drestroying files there as well. And to the galaxy we didn?t exist anymore.

A speeder from the hangar brought us to my parent?s house at the outskirts of the small village of Alladea.

My parents welcomed me home and said that Boyd Vienar could stay in the guest-house.

A young boy greeted me and said he was Alwin Karao. He said he was studying to become a firefighter and that he was a former Jedi initiate.

He recognised that lightsaber immediately and I told him I would guard it well. He said that he would guard me and my friends.

My father said that Roel Ammer of the Alladea firedepartment needed a new chief for one of the firetrucks and was short one medic. He had retired years ago but had still his contacts and visited the station almost every day.

We went to the district-chief and I told him of my training as a medic and doctor and showed him my papers.

Boyd told him of his training as a Police-sergeant and of the years as a personal detective of Palpatine.

The district-chief asked him if he would become a medic and Boyd agreed to that.

This evening we are going to visit Boyd?s parents and they were delighted when we contacted them and told them of our coming.

Mama Vienar will make her famous apple-pie for us and I remember the days from my youth when I was sleeping in at the Vienar house.
Two four year old kids scrubbed clean after a play in the sand and watching the holonet and eating that pie.

A speaking owl was telling bedtime stories and all kinds of animals appeared in it. Two beavers were the mechanics in the village and a mother-ant was complaning the entire time about cleaning her house. It ended always with the owl saying ?eyes shut and beaks closed, sleep well young ones? and giving a wink with his right eye.

Next entry is early because of a real life story of yesterday and some great fun.

Entry 47

Alwin Karao has graduated and has become a fireman on my firetruck. Yesterday ended funny.

A big abandoned building was on fire and in it were some materials which when they escaped could be dangerous to your health. Some of it floated upward with the smoke and descended in the fields surrounding the building.

The Alladea police-department was guiding the few farmers living in the area to a safe place and one of our firetrucks was searching for the dangerous material. They found some of it and returned to the site where the command-truck was standing.

My orders were to decontaminate the truck and its occupants and that?s where the fun started.
Because of the hot weather one of those men had left his trousers in the station and was only wearing a pink pair of boxers under his fireman?s suit. And his suit was contaminated.

Hosing him with water was done and after that he removed his clothes. They were put in a large blue bag and labeled decontamination procedure.

Alwin Karao began to giggle and said that he had seen those kinds of boxers before.

When I asked where, he said that it was the Jeditemple and he had seen them given as presents to master Kenobi from his 10 year old padawan Anakin Skywalker.

Soon everybody was having fun.

And that fireman? He donned a pair of safety-trousers worn when having to deal with cutting trees and was looking funny again in that green and fluorescent orange garment with bare feet under them.

Gkilkenny yesterday it was the talk of the evening and today when we were saving a bird, the pink boxers were again the object of discussion.

Entry 48

I have picked up my old life on Alderaan, made many friends and met old friends and I am living in the house of my parents.

Boyd Vienar has joined the firedept and he has trained to become a medic.

Today Alwin showed us another of his Jedipowers.

We got the call that a wild bird was trapped in a tree and some of my men snickered ?birds are always sitting in a tree. They will come out naturally?

We drove to the house and the bird could be seen high up in the tree. It was a black and white bird and made cawing sounds.

Alwin, being the smallest and lightest of us donned the safetyharness and we readied the ropes.

Alwin climbed the ladder we had placed against the tree and was soon sawing away at the little branch where the bird was stuck. The branch started to fall but it didn?t fall the way it would normally do.
It was floating down and Alwin was holding his hand in a strange way.

Alwin came rapidly down the ladder and caught the branch and freed the bird without being pecked at. The bird remained on his hand for a while and flew away.

I asked how Alwin did this and he said ?I have always been gentle with animals and they trust me.?

Alwin saves a Magpie.

We drove to the house and the bird could be seen high up in the tree. It was a black and white bird and made cawing sounds.

Gkilkenny, yes it was a young magpie and he was tangled in some fishingwire that got stuck in that large tree. The magpie is going to be fine and there are even some pictures of me saving that bird on the internet (112 bollenstreek)

VaderLVR64 Alwin has always loved animals and he learned that from Obi-Wan and master Ekiway.

Entry 49

Alwin Karao has become a driver of the engine besides his work as one of the crew.

Alwin is an exceptionally good firefighter and it must be due to that Force but he always gets us out of trouble before trouble gets us.

Yesterday he spotted the only person left in that house and got him out before it crumbled. He was fast as lightning and walking straight towards that man.
We couldn?t have done it that way and the man he got out was even untouched by the fire and smoke. He said with that small smile that his so characteristically of him ?I could protect him from harm.?

Today we had an exercise in an abandoned building. The others were leaving and with the two of us still remaining I asked Alwin to demonstrate with that lightsaber a kata for me. He said that he would try and smiled again. He had been practising with a wooden stick but to hold a lightsaber was better.

I have seen many Jedi giving those demonstrations but what he did was totally new for me. Small measured moves, holding the lightsaber in a defensive posture. I have only seen Obi-Wan doing this.

Gkilkenny yes Obi-Wan has taught Alwin after they came back from Lingala

More real life in the first two parts. I even saw our Dutch dirtrace on a United airlines flight from London to Washington. Some men from Texas had come after that to compete in it and they were dressed as cowboys, including the hats.
The third part is from my grandfather who was a firefighter during WW2

Entry 50

Two days ago was the last day of the children's camp. A village out of wood was built and the last day it was broken down again and the wood made a great campfire.

A campfire means us: we set the wood on fire and let it burn in a controlled way with water coming from the nearby canal.

Much of that water went in the direction of the children of course and they loved it, getting all wet and especially the adults who were protesting but dragged by the children into the waterspray.

The children had diner with pancakes and what was left of it was for us.

Alwin said that they were like the ones Serinka was making so many years ago.

The campfire was followed by another event: a dirtrace.
A dirtrace is a run through muddy meadows with some shallow ditches full of smelly mud and the canal to swim. We are the providers of the cleaning-liquid: water, lots of water taken from a hydrant and they don?t mind that it is cold.

When they arrive at our place they are looking like black muddy figures and hosing them down reveals running outfits or more strange things like long dresses, a wedding-gown and hats.

One team was carrying a purple crocodragon for the entire race and it helped them with their swims.

Alwin saw that thing and he said that Obi-Wan had gotten one from master Lapiili after he was injured on Lingala.

Alderaan is still relatively untouched by the Empire and only a small squad of stormtroopers is staying in the capital at the other side of the planet.

The empire needs young ones for its battleships and I am too old for that and not bothered by the requiting teams of the Empire.

And being a firechief has its merits. You are needed in your village and I have saved many young men and women by enlisting them into the firedepartment when the teams came for new ?slaves? or as Boyd calls it ?battlefodder?

Sheryl?s boss Milindus has built a large factory for medical goods in Alladea and our ?firefighters? are employed there when the requiting teams leave.

Alwin has celebrated his 27th birthday a week ago and he is still looking like a young teenager.

Today an old man visited us and he recognised Alwin immediately.

He introduced himself as Magin Bhik and Alwin asked how he kept himself hidden from the empire.

Magin said that it was easy if you concentrated on hiding your Force powers and he had become an adept in it. He had become a stablehand on one of the large Nerf-farms and with so many living Nerfs surrounding him it was easy.

He said that he wanted to mourn the Jedi lost on that fateful day 10 years ago.

I gave Alwin the green lightsaber to use and watched the ceremony in my house.

Magin said to me ?Luciano guard this lightsaber well? after Alwin gave it back to me.

A dirtrace sound dirty When I was a kid I loved the mud. We would slide into the dam down a mud path.

Gkilkenny, our dirtrace was really dirty and smelly and about 100 youths 11-14 years and 500 older participants.

Entry 51

It has been a very long time since I saw this diary. I have kept it hidden in a trunk in the attic of my house.
My parents have died two years ago at the same day in their sleep of old age and many of my friends attended the funeral. It was 4 months after their celebration of 55 years of marriage. Boyd?s father died two months ago and his mother is still alive.

I am 55 years old and due to retire in 5 years time. Firechiefs can retire at 60 but the firefighters are retiring at 55.

Boyd kept track of his sister but with the Empire it has become impossible to go to every race. Podraces are only tolerated on Empire-controlled planets with the exeption being the Boonta Eve classic on Tatooine. Hm. Why that planet?

Even the race on Ganaris isn?t held anymore after that Jedi was located at the local university and put up a fight, killing an entire squad of stormtroopers and helping rebels escape.

Yoda?s lightsaber is always with me, hidden in an inside pocket of my fireman?s jacket. I have decided to keep its true identity a secret.

I have used it for the first time today to rescue a human trapped in a vehicle.
When my mates asked where I had acquired it I said ?I made it on Coruscant after a visit to the Jeditemple-firedept. It has saved many lives on Coruscant in the years I have used it.?

Yesterday Boyd Vienar said that Sheryl Vienar had contacted him and invited us to come to the Boonta Eve podrace on Tatooine. Tomorrow we are going to the podrace on Tatooine and Alwin will accompany us as our pilot.

And yes I think it will cheer him up being away from Alladea for a while. A week ago he fainted on the floor of the garage and when I asked hin what had happened he said ?my mentor at the agristation Magin Bhik became one with the Force.?

Entry 52
We went to Tatooine for the Boonta Eve podrace but we never got there. As Boyd was guiding the craft to a landing I said ?Hey, look that speeder is in trouble.?

We exited the ship and ran toward the crashed speeder.

An old man was trapped by a piece of a racing pod engine and I used Yoda?s lightsaber to cut it in half to rescue him.

Boyd wanted to move as soon as possible from the scene and I said we had to destroy the speeder because I had some nagging feeling and Boyd did just that: with his blaster.

We carried the old man the short distance to the merchant-ship and put him in the small well equipped medbay and I told Alwin to take off for the short flight to the small town of Mos Eglins where we landed in a shielded canyon.

I began to undress the old man and when I removed the cloak I was startled. I knew that man but that couldn?t be because all Jedi were dead.

Boyd had readied an IV and pushed back the sleeve of the beige tunics. When he inserted the needle the man moaned softly before slipping into unconsciousness ?aarch you know I dislike needles.?

When I examined the man and found the scar from surgery across his left collarbone and the scar from a lightsaberwound I knew for certain. He was Obi-Wan Kenobi.

We treated him and his left lower arm had an uncomplicated fracture and he had some bruises and a slight concussion.

Together we set the bone and applied a splint to it.

Alwin recognised the man immediately.

After two days Obi-Wan regained consciousness and he told us his name was Ben.

That figures because he doesn?t want to attract attention to the fact that a Jedi is still alive.

I love how you're bringing the various characters into this!

 

And I like the way how you nicely link stories. It is almost like standing in front of an old mediveal carpet (= a "goblin" in French). You have an amazing gift!

Entry 53

For the next five days we cared for Ben Kenobi and on the seventh day after we found him he came to the commonroom and said after a look on the calendar that he wanted to mourn the dead of the clonewars.

Alwin joined us.

We did that and when Obi-Wan mentioned the initiates and Anakin I could see through teary eyes tears in Obi-Wan?s eyes too. He still loved Anakin like a brother. He said with a soft voice ?Go to Moniron. Bring this lightsaber to Kaagi Adin. Yoda?s lightsaber is important for the future? and he deactivated his lightsaber.

I asked ?why do we have to go to that planet. It is erased from the starcharts.?

Obi-Wan said ?that lightsaber needs to be protected. I have programmed the location of Moniron in your navcomp and the jumps will be on automatic. At least two of my friends are staying there and one of them is Master Kaagi Adin.?

I agreed and we got the coordinates for Moniron. Some automatic hyperspace jumps and we would have to fly the last part manually through a nebula.

Boyd wanted to accompany Obi-Wan to Mos Espa and he said that he wanted to join his sister and the rebels.

I said that only two men were needed to get that lightsaber to Moniron and that I would like to go there and I asked if Boyd would visit the firestation on Alladea and tell them that I had met a friend from Coruscant and would be staying with her. Boyd said he would do that and that he would keep my whereabouts a secret.

After landing in the same place where we had found Obi-Wan a little more than a week ago we gave him one of our new speeders and said good-bye to Obi-Wan and took off.

Entry 54

Yesterday we have landed on Moniron. We had our jumps from Tatooine to Moniron and when we exited hyperspace for the last time a nebula was on our path. We entered it and Alwin was muttering about grit entering the stabilisers.

When we exited the nebula we found a sun surrounded by 8 planets. The blue-green one was our destination and we headed for a pristine looking forested continent. Obi-Wan had told us his cabin was situated in those woods. A bumpy ride followed and the stabilisers finally gave out and Alwin shouted ?we are going to crash.?

Our transport dropped out of control to the surface of a densely forested area and came to a stop crashing through small and not so small trees.

Thanks to our restraining harnesses we only suffered some small injuries and I used the lightsaber to cut through the door which was jammed shut.

As I pushed the door open we were greeted by a large stately human.

He was master Ere-Dun and I asked him if he knew where Master Kaagi Adin lived.
He said that he was sent by Aaqu Maerhin and that he would guide us to the place of Eled-Hir where the centre of healing and teaching is.

Aaqu Maerhin was staying there and Kaagi Adin was there as well.

I said to Alwin ?they knew we were coming? and Alwin gave me a snug look.

Yeah Jedi, they have the Force.

 

Entry 55

Today we have arrived at the place of Eled-Hir and Master Aaqu treated us for the small injuries. After lunch we went to the garden and told him our stories.

I told them of the betrayal of Mori Sinna and the escape in Boyd Vienar?s transport to Alderaan.

I told them of the destruction of the temple and Anakin Skywalker marching ahead of his clonetroopers and entering the temple. And how I was forbidden to fight the fires raging in the temple.

I told them of the day after Palpatine had declared himself emperor and the small fire in the bowels of the Senatehall.
