Did Callista Ming ever die?

I read somewhere that she died and her lightsaber now belongs to Luke. Is that true. If so, how and when did she die? Thanks.

 

I don't think she's died. At the end of Planet of Twilight her and Luke see each other and basically say goodbye and thats the last time she's really seen in the EU.

Thanks. The reason i ask is because i read this site with data on lots of lightsabers (http://www.thelightsaber.com/IndexFolder/index2.htm) and it says she died and the lightsaber was given to Luke. (check site out to read the info on her blade)

Hey, don't say thank god. That's an inuslt to Callista fans.

 

I'm pretty sure that she's not dead. I'll restate what I think Wynssa said that her last appearance was in Planet of the Twilight.

JediCallistaI don't think the "thank G-d" was meant to be an insult to Callista fans, but more of an expressed dislike of the character. The words didn't come out of my mouth obviously but I don't think any offense was intended.

 

Well, Callista was dead when they met and Luke did carry around her lightsaber while on the Eye. Maybe that's what they meant. When she went into Cray's body, however, she got it back ...

 

In Children of the Jedi, Callista was hibernating in the computer and was 'reincarnated' for lack of a better word into Cray's body. He gave the lightsaber back to her once she had a body again. When she left him, she had her lightsaber, I think.

So that's it. Does anyone know if she returned at all in the NJo books, and i haven't read much of the books with Callista in them, actually the only book i've read with her in it is Darksaber, but i haven't finished and am in the proccess of finishing it. Does anybody know why she left? I read on some site that she was going to defeat something.

She never was in the NJO books...you can probably find some fanfiction with her in it but not much. She left because she couldn't touch the force without using the darkside. She and Luke both felt that their relationship wasn't complete without the force. So she left to go find the force on her own so she could possibly learn to touch the force again without using the darkside. Hope that helped.

Question 1: Does anyone think that she will ever be able to use the light side of the Force again?

Question 2: Could she be able to use the Dark Side but stay light, sort of like Mara Jade (Lukeays she never went ti the Darkside. I think that was the one with the Thrawn's Hand. Vision of the Future or Spector of the Past.})?

No, Mara admitted she never used the dark side. When she killed people, she didn't use the Force or something like that, so it wasn't the dark side. I think it would be good for an author to bring back Callista as a non-romantic person. Luke and her made a terrible couple, but I love her character.

 

I was thinking of putting her in the fanfic series i am working on, and was wondering if she used the Force for selfless reasons and not selfish, she could use the Dark Side and not turn? Any ideas, facts, or opinions?

I knew about Luke and Mara's Perfect Relationship of Ultimate Perfection (TM) before I read the novel with Callista in it. Therefore, her presence as a romantic interest pains me greatly.

I didn't much care for the book she was in, either. What was it, Children of the Jedi? Something like that.

But I don't think Crallistay ever died. Callista's body is gone, but her spirit live on (sadly) in Cray's body.
