Did Luke exaggerate his defeat in ROTJ, same as Palpatine did in ROTS?

Luke was definitely not faking his torture, since he had no idea of the Emperor's powers. That brings me to another point. Just how good was Luke? His training was greatly abbreviated, so he obviously missed the finer points of learning the Jedi arts. His ability to defeat Vader makes me respect the raw power and talent that he possessed at that point. So I believe Luke was somewhere around the power of Anakin in AOTC, but definitely not Anakin/Vader in ROTS. Thoughts?

why would he fake this? He decided not to fight anymore; through that the emporer was lighting him up hoping to get him to say ok I will turn, but He saw that Luke would not turn. Luke was not fighting Palps. I do not know where you got that from. He went there for Vader!

While I definately don't think that he was faking it, I do like the way the person who made this post is sort of thinking outside the box. My main arguements against is are

    1. Palpatine was more powerful than Luke and was clearly having his way with him. Luke also did not know of the prophecy and Anakin being the only one able to destroy the Sith and such. If at the point he was getting electrocuted he could have done anything about it I believe that he would have. He could feel the conflict in his father, but relying on a Sith Lord for help is a bad plan. ;)

    2. "Lies, Distrust, Deceit are his ways now." Luke had just renounced the dark side and became a Jedi Knight. The type of coniving that Palpatine did is certainly NOT Jedi like.
