Did R2 know suited up Vader was Anakin??

No he just tells Captian Antilles to erase C-3PO memeory not R2.


And I would think that R2 does not know Vader is Anakin.

We also have 20 years were Bail is in ownership of the Droids, before getting to Luke.
In those 20 years I am shure Bail has been near Suited Vader in conversation. Maybe even with the droids around. All before the whole Rebellion thing started to take hold against this new empire. I think back to the Star Wars Radio Drama. Remember they wrote that whole scene an Corosant(SP?) Before Leia left to get the plans for the Dath Star, she ran into her fathe.....errr Darth Vader before leaving. They even had a conversation I believe & Bail was there too if I remember. It's been along time since I listened to those cassete tapes. I really need to pick that up on CD.

Well, my two cents' worth:

1) In the Novelization, R2 and 3PO have a conversation while Vader is talking to Padme prior to leaving for Mustafar. R2 is very concerned about Anakin and thinks he is acting strangely.

2) Again, in the Novelization, R2 went to the Temple to update his codes and such, prior to leaving for Mustafar. He may have viewed the carnage or accessed the security records while there.

3) The CIS leaders were waiting for Lord Vader to arrive, and as R2 was on the starfighter carrying Vader, one can surmise that R2 was aware of any IFF codes sent to the CIS folks on Mustafar, so as to get clearance through their defensive perimeter.

4) R2 knows that Anakin is Luke's father, he was present for Luke's birth. If I recall correctly, in ESB, R2 is on the Millenium Falcon following the Bespin duel, and is present for Luke's dialog with Vader via the Force.

Anyway, just a few points.
