Did Steven Spielberg owe Ted Danson or something?

Granted it's been forever since I have seen Saving Private Ryan. But, Ted Danson? Come on?

 

The cool thing about Ted Danson is that when it's raining, you can use his forehead as an umbrella.

 

and he sticks out like a sore thumb...Ted Danson as a soldier?? didn't buy it one bit.

Hated that scene.

You can tell I never paid attention to that movie due to the fact that I had no idea Ted Danson was in it.

 

Maybe he was Sam Malone's Great Grandfather, and was gonna build a bar after the war was over?

 

I never noticed Ted Danson in the film until a year later when I looked it up at IMDb.

BTW - Forget Ryan. The real stars of the movie were Jackson and Mellish.

Too bad Spielberg decided to off them. Poor Mellish had the most excruciatingly painful death scene....

 

I didn't see anything wrong with it. Didn't distract me from the movie too much--it was a good scene too.

 

No one complained that the Dad from Malcolm in the Middle was in Saving Private Ryan.

 

Holy crap, I didn't notice him. When???

 

He's the Colonel who gets the first report about the fact that 3 of Ryan brothers were KIA.
Remember:
"Colonel, I have soemthing you should know about..."

Actually he had a few, and he had a cool character, especially in the book.
Pitty he can't act.

I'm more concerned about Jimmy Fallon in Band of Brothers.

Imagine being that soldier's grandchildren or something, being so excited that Spielberg and Hanks were including a war hero from your family in their big TV series, and then finding out Jimmy Fallon was playing him

Paul Giamatti was also in the movie, lest any of you forget.

Edit: Oh, and so was the guy from Serenity and Firefly.

Saving Private Ryan is the only decent war movie I've ever come across.

ted danson is like a slightly more normal looking rocky dennis.

 

Yeah, and the guy from Bachelor Party was one of the leads! And that guy from Friends was one of the lesser parts.

 

Except Giamatti is awesome in everything.

 

Then I shall suggest Clint Eastwood's Iwo Jima duology.

They leave Private Ryan in the dust.

But ya'll probably complain being that Paul Walker is in Flags as Hank Hansen.

 

Iwo Jima is the superior of the two films...hands down.
