JCC Discussion Time: Let's Talk About Drafts - next draft?

The Anti-draft is replacing the Wrestling draft, and Animated is slotted to start. They're both going up.

 

I think the anti-draft was to be the next mini-draft, and the Animated the full one.

Ah, okay. So when the antidraft gets put up I can push for the animal draft. Well, I guess I just started pushing.

So there are mech only slots now? I'm still not sure how that's supposed to work, if people... Do they have to draft mechs then, or what happens if a team with mechs goes up against a team w/out them?

 

Well, Bart did say "Do we want the mech only slots? I see two people who don't seem to want them. Having gotten rid of the Gunbusters, they'd probably be fine in the regular list again.", so I don't know if mech slots are 100% yes. I think I could live without them.

 

I could live without them as well, and have life more abundantly.

 

I'd rather we had something in place to manage them, but I'd not mind if we went without.

 

I'm just... Not sure... What needs to be managed. I'm actually wondering how Alucard is going to be managed...

 

Do we just want to drop Hellsing then? Seeing as the two series and the manga contradict each other when it comes to power? Because, to make the side characters in Hellsing into decent picks, we'd need to use Ultimate and the manga, but that puts Alucard into too much. And, to me, it seems silly for him to be the only one designated as "original series" or just plain gone. Seeing as it is kind of his show. But that's up to everyone.

So, get rid of Alucard, keep him, or get rid of all of Hellsing?

 

I'm sure it wouldn't be terribly missed if you did cut it.

In the middle of catching up on Ultimate, so I'll hold off commenting on Alucard. Also, all this talk of Hellsing reminded me, should we drop Incognito, what with all the vagueness over how to put him down for good?

 

I think we're just dropping Hellsing entirely for this draft.

As for limits, I'm thinking of keeping the idea of only allowing four mechs per team. Teams do not have to draft mechs, but they can only have four. Also, only one strategist.

At the risk of a bit more Naruto oversaturation, no Yamato or Sai? Wouldn't be a crime if they were left off (but really, what's two more names on that list?), but those two (Yamato especially) are at least a good deal more useful than a good number of those that are already on there.

I'd also not mind adding Ben 10 and American Dragon. Ben/Gwen/Kevin could be a team. Vilgax... Ghostfreak...

 

Totally forgot about Yamato and Sai, stupid Sai hasn't shown up in what seems like 50+ chapters is what I'm blaming for him being left off.

As for Ben 10, sure, I'll add. You mind suggesting some American Dragon characters, though?

As for Gurren Lagann...that's strange, because they're on the list I copy/pasta'd over to the JC. I must have accidentally deleted them with the touchpad mouse, I have been known to accidentally do that. Oh well, I'll be posting the list again sometime either tomorrow or thursday.
