What if these characters were re-canonized during a different time period? Like what if they brought back Xizor but he founded Black Sun hundreds of years a go. Would that work or would it be too weird having a familiar character in a different era?

 

It would make the current time line more interesting.

Solo says there are five syndicates, aren't there? Crimson Dawn was only one. And Black Sun canonically exists per TCW, so it could easily be one of the other four.

 

I've never liked Xizor, but it is kinda weird that we have his organization in canon, run by guys who look just like him, but don't actually have him himself.

 

It is. The Smuggler's Guide confirms the Five Syndicates are Crymorah, Black Sun, Crimson Dawn, Pyke Syndicate, and the Hutts.

Thrawn received them as a gift from Emperor Palpatine himself. They were once part of Hego Damask's personal art collection. Palpatine inherited them after the Muun died and gave them to Thrawn as a reward accompanying his promotion.

 

Rumour has it they were transported to the Chimaera in a ship based on a Rugess Nome design.

 

Fascinating. I've always wanted to pilot a Rugess Nome craft. Nome was supposed to be one of the best engineers in the Galaxy during his heyday.

Rumor has it that the sculptures were stolen from the Chimaera during the Battle of Lothal just before the Purgill arrived.

Sooo how about Borsk, maybe better in an old republic setting or clone wars perhaps?

 

If we move it to a different time period wouldn´t an entirely new character make more sense then moving Borsk there?

 

They did it with Thrawn, sort of.

 

But Thrawn is the most popular EU character, with the possible exeption of Mara and even with him they only made him Grand Admiral earlier.
Borsk is hardly a fan favourite.
