... Dammit, now I'm torn. Do I use my Fandango gift certificate on Guardians of the Galaxy like I planned, or do I wait and use it on Deep Breath? *sighs* Decisions, decisions.
So this was announced, and I'm probably going to get it. This limited edition collector's set includes the 50th anniversary special; The Day of the Doctor, Matt Smith's Farewell; The Time of the Doctor, the Series 7 finale; The Name of the Doctor, and the Eighth Doctor's (Paul McGann) surprise regeneration into John Hurt's War Doctor; The Night of the Doctor. The collection also includes an exclusive cut of the read-through of The Day of the Doctor featuring Matt Smith and David Tennant, deleted scenes, new-to-DVD cinema trails and Mark Gatiss' award winning drama about the genesis of Doctor Who; An Adventure in Space and Time. The hilarious Five-ish Doctors - starring Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and a host of special guests - will also be included on DVD and Blu-ray for the first time. Nice way to kickstart my Blu-Ray collection, which I'll probably amass slowly.
So I've noticed that this new collection is only available on Amazon's UK site (i.e. not on the main Amazon.com site in America). Does that mean it won't be available outside of the UK?
Since everybody missed it the first time, I'm going to repost Moffat's series 8 teasers from yesterday. Spoiler Episode 1: I wonder if the "truly terrifying" monster is the dinosaur we saw at Westminster? Probably not since this one takes place in Victorian times and that one looked like a more modern setting. Episode 2: Welp, here's our Dalek episode. Episode 3: This comedic one might be a much needed respite after the "terrifying" first episode and "gritty" second one. I bet this is the one where the Doctor fights with a spoon. Episode 4: I really, really hope this doesn't turn out to be the rom com this teaser hints it might be... Episode 5: Doctor Who heist. Oh yeah. Episode 6: I bet Craig and "Stormageddon" make a comeback in this one. Let's hope it's more like The Lodger and less like Closing Time. Episode 7: This doesn't really tell us anything. I'm predicting Hide will be the episode it refers back to. Episode 8: Er... what? Episode 9: I've never been terrified by Doctor Who before (not even by Blink or Hide). I'm curious how this one fares. Episode 10: A throwback to series 5 or 6 perhaps, with the "fairytale" feel? Episodes 11 and 12: Sounds like a cool season finale. I'm hoping we get a glimpse of Gallifrey by this point! So what are your thoughts on the upcoming season?
Spoiler Spoiler Well considering this is the episode where Clara and Danny Pink are supposed to be going on a date that the Doctor interuppts... Edit: BBC's Twitter feed sent out a video thanking it's 1 million Twitter followers, featuring the character of Osgood from The Day of the Doctor Spoiler As well as appearing in the series 8 finale . It contains no spoilers, but it's on BBC's player, and there's no corresponding YouTube for it, so I can't embed it, so I'll place a link to it here.
Very cool they included a clip from Eleven's greatest episode in that video too. Yes, it will be a serious oversight if this set never gets released outside of Region 2. I've been holding off on buying the TDotD and TTotD DVDs precisely for a collection like this.
We've just seen a new teaser - it features a view into the TARDIS from the outside, then the camera pans up to look at the Doctor sitting cross-legged on the top of the TARDIS. He then looks in the camera and says "Listen."
