Dooku pauses and looks remorseful after whipping Ani?

I agree with you about Dooku Using Sidious.. I think Dooku is out for himself but not to bring back the Jedi order. Dooku has no Concern for the Jedi, His goal is to command the sepratists and destroy the republic. If that was the case I think Dooku would have ordered the Jedi to be assinated. He offered them a Chance to live in the Arena so he aint out to kill them.

 

Now that I think about it (and overanalyze it like I always do ) maybe Dooku sensed Yoda apporaching right as he shoved Ani away. He was thinking Oh, man, I'm screwed.

The bit where their lightsabers barely touch each other is my favourite bit of the fight. It's as if they can both see what's coming next, and more like a dance than a fight. Which gives the impression that it's an old style of Jedi fighting, which tells you that Dooku's completely in control of what's going on.

I think you've hit it.

 

At least it didn't end with Christopher Lee making Anakin break dance on his face like in another duel.

It is unfortunate that so much of the duel with Dooku vs. Anakin was cut. The novel made Anakin sound like so much better of a fighter and Dooku was impressed with his skills (if you haven't read it, i suggest you do just to get a different perspective even if it isn't considered canon). Dooku had to concentrate way too hard to have a chance to taunt Anakin. Even after Dooku destroys Anakin's green saber look at Dooku's face as Anakin starts slashing with the one saber. Dooku is caught off guard by the quickness a bit. Dooku's expression afterwards is NOT of remorse, he is definitely tired. He's killed a bunch of jedi already by his actions one way or another, what is a few more?
