IIRC, Eeth Koth was aboard the gunship that was destroyed right before Mace Windu said, "Pilot! Land at that assembly area!"

    And he died?
Is there no explaination in the EU that says he survived somehow, I'm sure there must be ;)

    Yes, he died.

Darth Sidious died and was brought back and killed again in the EU. Boba Fett is plain unkillable - I like that!

    ^^^
Those were the only two characters that got an EU explanation. :)

Some theories on what happened to him was mixed in with Sadie Gallia. They were both flying over Geonosis during the battles. Sadie in a Jedi Starfighter, Eeth in a Gunship.

Like most people have said, Eeth died.

Bah, Eeth and Adi (as anyone who's seen the old TF.N banner knows) fakes their deaths and ran off together.

I think the offical answers is that Koth is dead and he was Replaced by Agen Kolar(the Zabrak we do see at the arena) on the Council.

    Well ...

Agen Kolar is Koth. They didn't have the actor that played Eeth Koth when they went to Sydney and hired a new guy to play him. They changed the character and came up with a whole new person.

    Thus replacing Koth with Kolar.

Agen is still alive so no ... Koth is not dead.

    *EDIT*

From Agen Kolar's Databank at starwars.com

Agen Kolar was originally intended to be Eeth Koth in Episode II. Since Attack of the Clones was shot in Sydney, Australia, the pool of Jedi extras was different than the one used to fill the ranks of the Jedi Council in Leavesden, England during the shooting of Episode I. For The Phantom Menace , Hassani Shapi played Eeth Koth. For Episode II, Tux Akindoyeni was cast in the role, though he appeared different enough from Shapi that the character was renamed and ultimately deemed a different Zabrak Jedi altogether.

I'd like to think he died during the clone wars and we'll never find out how. That gunship thing is just cheap

According to a reliable source, and i quote, "Master Eeth Koth was one of the contingent of Jedi Knights and Masters dispatched to the Battle of Geonosis, although he died when the LAAT/I that was transporting him was shot down and crashed on the surface of Geonosis." George Lucas apparently wanted to kill him off or couldn't secure him for the next film.
