I’ve been re-watching the show the last week or so, finished season two. I was was sort of planning on then just skipping to the movie when it was released, but I’m finding I’ve forgotten a lot of little things so guess I’ll just continue rewatching the whole thing, probably will be a week or so before I get to the movie now.

Netflix has a quick series recap in the trailer section. It’s about three and a half minutes.

Off the cliff. But your English is much better than my Italian so don’t take that as a slight.

Very good movie. It could be argued that it was totally unnecessary, that Felina was already a perfect finale, but I don't care: El Camino is a great film, a worthy epilogue to a great series, and an absolute gift to Aaron Paul who has never been as good as he is here. Good movies are few and far between: cherish them.

A great film. I do think it was needed as just showing Jessie zoom off into the distance was not enough. A great film for a great series.

I enjoyed it a lot, but it is strictly an epilogue. Which doesn't bother me much, as I've seen and loved Breaking Bad, but it does create a bit of an entry barrier.

I watched El Camino on Saturday night. Loved it.

Such a perfect way to bring closure for Jesse's character and wrap up the one remaining plot thread from the series. Just nailed it in both of those regards.

I was actually surprised how many flashbacks there were, but they were really good. The conversation with Mike where Mike tells Jesse that you might be able to make a fresh start, but you can never "make things right". What's done is done. And that conversation with Walt where Walt tells Jesse, "You're lucky... you didn't have to wait your whole life to do something special." Just some amazing insight into Walt's true feelings on the whole thing, which we didn't really see him vocalize until later on BB when he tells Skyler "I did it for me... I was good at it." And the flashbacks with Todd definitely make him even more despicable, and make you understand even more why Jesse jumped at the chance to choke Todd to death at the compound later. My ONLY nitpick... Jesse Plemons has gained some weight since BB, so of all the newly filmed flashback scenes, his are the only ones that take you out of the believability for a minute. He looks quite a bit older and heavier in his neck and chin area than he did in BB. Also liked Jane in that flashback correcting Jesse that she now believed it wasn't enough to just let the universe take you where it may.

Badger and Skinny Pete were great as always. Really liked how they helped Jesse like that, and how Pete told Jesse he was his hero. And the duel with the guy at the welding company... love how Jesse had his left hand on the other gun in his jacket pocket the whole time. And finally, the juxtaposition between Jesse's condition (freaked out, laughing, crying, screaming) as he drove away in the El Camino at the start of the movie / end of BB, and Jesse's condition (calm and content) as he drove in Alaska at the end. Just perfect. And as mentioned already, Robert Forster was great again in this role. RIP.

I’m on season 3, just watched the Fly episode, lol

I think the first time I watched the show I didn’t give that episode enough credit, probably just wanted to get on with the show and see what happens. But it’s a really fun episode.

I like "Fly" a lot. It was a necessary bottle episode to reign in the budget IIRC, but they used it very well. Fans didn't like it (still don't?) because it doesn't advance the plot. Rather it deals with Walt being tormented by what he's done and trying to rationalize it.

Wait, Fly is one of the best episodes of the show. I didn't follow the "dialogue" as the show was airing– people didn't like Fly?

I remember the subreddit and AV Club comments being down on it, with some considering it the worst episode of the series. That may have changed in the years since the series ended.

Fly is brilliant. I’ll sneer at anyone who suggests otherwise.

My folks hadn't watched any Breaking Bad but I told them about El Camino and they gave it shot and enjoyed it, so the movie is not entirely non-new user friendly, it is a solid quirky crime flick. The flashbacks I feel are the way that Jessie is processing his grief, he doesn't have anyone to talk to so his remembering his interactions give him closure.

But for Rian Johnson directed episodes, Ozymandias is even better. And even better if viewed immediately after To’hajiilee.

Speaking of Ozymandias, this was a cool promo for season 5. The poem Ozymandias recited by Bryan Cranston.

It's still looked down upon unfortunately. A couple I follow on YT did a reaction series to BB and everyone told them to skip Fly. They watched it and liked it though.
