Eric Idle was on Wait Wait Don't Tell Me and told his Carrie Fisher story again.

This is Dave Filoni, man. You know exactly what is going to happen. The best was can hope for is she gets rid of the goofy bowl cut.

All these characters look horrible in Filonimation, with or without hair.

You may hate how she looks animated, wait till you see her in live action.

I think Anya-Taylor Joy could do it

I don't think she is old enough if they are going for the Mando/Grogu era live action.

    Uma Thurman?

It's more than ATJ has a unique face so if she went bald would be pretty close to the look of Ventress I think.
I thought Thurman had retired, can't remember the last time she appeared in anything

Ventress would be about 60 or so by the time of Ahsoka series? So I guess you'd need someone in that age bracket. Although perhaps alien races don't age as visibly, Cad Bane was in his 70s during TBOBF and he still looked the same

It's not strictly impossible but if someone like John Boyega did not want to be DisneyPlussed, I'd guess that Anya-Taylor Joy would understandably be even more reluctant than he was.

Boyega's issues are more to do with how he feels he was treated vs doing a TV series. I don't think ATJ will care if the part is interesting and the money is appealing, but she might wish to avoid getting tied to a franchise having already done Furiosa. She's a much bigger name than Boyega, so she's probably cost a lot more TV budget to bring in.

You could be right about ATJ.

Just checked IMDB...Uma is still working...just not big studio stuff.

I just remember thinking Uma would be a good Ventress 20 years ago after Ventress first appeared and Uma starred in Kill Bill.

Now it just seems like serendipity to have the actress and role re-align for the character at a different stage of life.

Good opportunity for a less well known actress to get a part & Star Wars has certainly been generous with giving older actors big roles (look at Ming-Na Wen & Temuera Morrison).

LA Ventress would need a layer of makeup anyway, so I don’t think the age of the actress will matter as much. ATJ would actually be a pretty good choice, IMO.

Ehh, way bigger actors than Boyega have appeared on Disney+.

Having said that, I doubt Disney is going to way to pay top dollar for a live action Ventress. All of these characters should just remain on the animated side of things.

I'm not even sure where a Live Action Ventress would fit.

I would hope she is killed by Vader, as he's low on prominent murders.

I don't know why it's so hard to just adapt the Dark Disciple storyline for TV.
That was her end, leave it and move on.

Ahsoka was supposed to die in Order 66, now she's seemingly going on forever. We don't need Ventress to do the same thing.

    Agreed.
So far none of the non-human characters have looked very good in live action form.

Grand Inquisitor, Thrawn, Fifth Brother, Ahsoka, even Cad Bane looked off

I think Star Wars has been relegated to general entertainment.

Side note, was Katie Lucas involved in this? My understanding is that the Ventress storyline in TCW was kind of her brainchild.

I don't see Katie Lucas's name in the announcement article for Underworld. Maybe they'll be more details at SW Celebration Japan.

Dave Filoni created the series and is the supervising director. He is also an executive producer along with Athena Yvette Portillo and Carrie Beck. Josh Rimes serves as co-executive producer, Alex Spotswood is the senior producer, and Matt Michnovetz is the writer.

I totally agree with everything you just said but ARGH how I despised Dark Disciple! It was like cringe Asajj/Vos fanfic. I absolutely don't mind her dying, but please, not like that sappy awful story! She deserves better.

She was, but it seems the Lucas kids have been stepping further back over the years.

Sadly, I am expecting as many "animated to live action" characters as they can cram into this stuff.

I don't know if it is Disney directive, or just Filoni's passion...but it appears the path here is to make the two story-telling mediums interchangeable with the characters/actors they want to use. Expect anyone at any time.

Toss in the video games too...LOTS of chatter about Cal Kestis becoming live action.

I kind of have a wary concern for voice-actors. If they don't have at least a passing resemblance to their characters going forward, they may well not get the parts. Which is just awful because the best voice actors almost NEVER look like their characters.

Ashley Eckstein didn't get to be Ahsoka, I doubt Freddy Prince Jr will ever play Kanan Jarrus In live action.

In fact nobody from the Rebels voice cast has appeared in live action form yet, apart from Lars Mikkelsen
