For what it's worth, I kind of enjoyed Pirates 5 as I would say it was step from the previous one. I must confess though having Kaya Scodelario made it easier to watch since I could watch her be in anything. I will say that Joachim Ronning and Jared Leto would not be my first choices to direct and star in Tron 3 but I am willing to keep an open mind. And Daft Punk has done a few things together ever since they broke up two years ago as by all accounts they are on good terms. Perhaps doing the soundtrack for this would doing a bit more work together. Hoping against hope on this one as it would not be the same without them. *fingers crossed*
I have yet to view a bad Tron product. But, things I need: Quorra was brought out to change the world, I wanna see this change in medicine and science in general. It's picototechnology which would be anything-we-want tech. There must of course be a Grid, and with Clu gone there would be a power vacuum which is where I assume the primary plot would be. Encom, and word of what happened to previous characters.
I honestly doubt we'd see the specific Grid from Legacy, since that was Flynn's personal Grid. It would be interesting if a more expansive Grid (one hooked up to the Internet, I'd imagine?) has something of a modernized version of the original film's Grid's aesthetic, though...
Sam did copy the personal server Grid to a thumbdrive, though. And it's heavily suggested that he was bringing that to Encom with him to help fulfill Kevin's dream and Quora's purpose. And, possibly, recover Kevin and/or Tron.
Tron Identity is coming in April and will launch first on Switch. Our first, brief look at some gameplay footage:
Some of the amazing merch that will bankrupt me at the Lightcycle Run. Jacket, helmet, backpack, disc, tumbler. They also have a customized action figure option. And some stuff from the opening ceremonies: (That's Bruce and Cindy in front there on the left) And...
I have spent years dwelling on the same concept. But the saw blade would probably be too heavy. ...what?
Music from Lightcycle Run- features new mixes of samples from the Legacy score with some really neat original bridging material. Our first new Tron music in over a decade! The video claims it's Jospeh Trapanese doing the work here, but that could just be attributing the original sampled work of his to him. EDIT- And, last month, this video from Jeff Bridges was also posted for Lightcycle Run!
Huzzah! Bithell Working on More TRON Games. “Tron: Identity is the start of Bithell Games’ collaboration with Disney on Tron-dedicated games,” Vargas said. “Players can expect more Tron titles to come in the future.” ... Bithell also acknowledged the announcement on Twitter, writing: “When you’re enjoying the ride, you stay on the light cycle.”
Tron can be so much more. I wonder why Disney hasn't really fleshed this out more with more movies, animation and tv shows. I would rather have this than a Willow series to be quite honest.
Because they bought Star Wars and didn't have room in their development slate for another sci-fi series aimed at the same audience. It's why Ascension was stopped. And partially why Uprising was killed (Disney XD's ad demos vs the demos of the show's audience being the other). But we are seemingly getting Ares, and the launch of Lightcycle Run in WDW boosts the franchise's profile significantly in anticipation of that.
And production has begun Various comments on the web just want Leto gone. But he isn't. I like the two other films, Leto was great in 2049. I'm in.
I don't have any issues with him as a performer, so I'm keeping an open mind. Let's see a trailer or get a better idea of the story first. It may not be the sequel we wanted for the franchise, but it could still end up being something good- and, hopefully, something that might actually get us the sequel we wanted eventually.
Kosinski mentions just having worked on a 4K Atmos remaster of Legacy. This thread claims that it will be a digital-only release for now- one specifically being done for the launch of 3D on D+ and the Apple Vision Pro (specifically with Dolby Vision 3D), though with an eye towards potential theatrical presentations at cinemas equipped for it. One would hope that we'd get a 4K BD release down the road once Ares hits disc, though (like the recent Cameron releases). Further, Kosinski says he's talked to the director of Ares, and that the film is using a version of the story from Ascension, "but from a different point of view".
Searching around as I experiment with another project, found this meshing of the Uprising theme with the opening to the original film. And it's really effective (which is good news for my project, as Uprising's score sounds like it would pair better than just recycling all of Legacy's). Revisiting clips and scenes recently too, it strikes me that much of the opening light cycle sequence must have been constructed after the fact as a means of getting into the action quicker (and padding out the short run time of the film), but doing so on a budget. I think they just took a neutral shot of David Warner from another scene later in the film and stuck his face inside the light cycle (explaining why he is so emotionless during those shots). And then surrounded him with mostly reused footage from the rest of the film (the light cycles, the command carrier approach, the shot of Sark walking across the carrier bridge to commune with the MCP- even the light cycle opponent program was probably footage shot for the main light cycle battle). I'm wondering if we were ever meant to see Flynn's at all until Alan and Laura show up- and instead just cut from the city to Flynn's hacking, without showing where he is. This guy did three others, but that one and the two below are the best. They certainly enhance specific moments or beats. Like the absortion of CLU into the MCP and adding dramatic weight to Dillinger's introduction: But then there's this awesome use of Tesler Throwdown for entering the Grid that makes it so much more ominous and powerful: Though it maybe lasts a couple seconds too long for the transition into that unique silence of Flynn's arrival. Still, not bad for a fan edit. Especially liked the added sound FX of the modem buzz static.
If he’s back, it’s as a cameo not on the main cast list. He was to be the main antagonist in Ascension, though.
