Episode IV Trailer... as if it were the fourth movie released...

I found a small mistake with the ESB trailer. At the end when it has the starring, co-starring, music, writing credits, and directed, It says "Written and Produced by GEORGE LUCAS"

It should be:

"Story by George Lucas"

"Screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan"

not in the future - kasdan would have nothing to do with lucas !

or was it just the fact i couldnt get it to all fit!

George Lucas Interview!
George Lucas held the first of many press conferences today at Skywalker Ranch to discuss his upcoming Sequel Trilogy. "I think fans will be very pleased with it," he said. In his typical manner, Lucas gave some details, but revealed nothing major about the plot. New information we found out?
-The movie will take place approximately twenty to twenty five years after ROTS.
-The plot will revolve around someone or something in AOTC. [Boba Fett? The clones?]
-The Droids will be returning in E4.

If the death star is shown being created at the end of ROTS, a spy rumor could be:
-The plot is based around the Death Star.

Another spy rumor could be:
-The movie's climax is not the traditional lightsaber battle.

 

can you imagine the crisis on the boards when somebody claimed:
leia is lukes sister (if that isn't shown in ROTS)!
the sheer flaming that would go on would be incredible.

Okay, my thoughts on the whole thing...

I think that we should do the website, as a fun little side project for a group of us to do. I think we need somewhere around two webmasters, a group of people making the trailers, a group of people making other stuff (I'm thinking posters, maybe trading cards [see below..], anything else "collectable") and then two or three people who would formulate spy reports.

It would really be a blast!

Now, my idea for stuff like trading cards... well, this was just a quick little photoshop thing, and I wrote a little 'story' to go with it. Hope you like it!

My friend Dave works for one of the local theaters here in Chicago, and he passed some information along to me. Friday they recieved Lucasfilm's Promo Kit for the next Star Wars movie, and it had a lot of goodies in it.

First of all, we do have confirmation that the name is "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope." ... I like it!

Secondly, they recieved a "teaser poster." It had a sillhouette of Darth Vader in the background, looking over Mark Hammil, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford. In the background is Yoda, Obi Wan (not played by Ewan... it seems the rumors are right!!) and Palpatine. Under all that was the Star Wars: A New Hope logo and the tagline "This Summer, The Saga Continues..."

Also included was information on a new trading card series Lucasfilm is putting out. They're called "Signature Collectors Series" cards, and they feature scenes from the movies... basically it's Lucasfilm's answer to Topps. Each theater got a prototype Darth Vader card (sans the signature). I guess when you buy a ticket, you get a pack of the cards.

It is confirmed by GL that he thinks the digital Yoda looks fake and as such has said that they will use a puppet in Episode IV. Frank Oz will still do the voice and is a puppeter, so we can assume he will be doing that as well.

It would be cool if, when the RotS DVD Comes out, you could put together a trailer for it not using any OT footage.

Excuse my ignorance (I'm a newbie), but do you know if there is an official Lucasfilms policy on creating trailers, etc. My understanding is that there is pretty little flexibility under copyright law for fan work... Most of it just exists becuase it's bad PR to sue your biggest fans...

I've heard rumors that GL has set some parameters, but has it been set down in writing anywhere?

Sorry to get off topic on what's been some awesome work, but these questions are stuff I'm interested in.

The concept behind this trailer is to make "the audience" believe Luke will suffer the same fate as Anakin and take the easy path into darkness. By doing this we show many shady/dark side moments from 'Jedi' that happen to Luke (Threats to Jabba, Force choke on Gamorreans, etc.)...

Also, as Obi Anne said earlier, Han's fate should be either ignored or lead you to believe that perhaps he may not be freed in this film (which means the credits can't be shown at the end of the trailer). So following these ideas, here's how I think a fan-made 'Jedi' trailer should play out:
