This was one of the things I was most proud of in TCW.

After fairly prominent planets like Ryloth and Mandalore were altered, I was almost certain that the same would happen to Onderon.

But to actually have them show Iziz as the only major city and have it still have its walls was actually well done.

Yes, TCW has a lot more major and avoidable differences to other EU sources than practically anything else, but it also did a lot right.

That's not surprising - the Star Wars gurus often 'crowdsource' here. For complicated universes, even the main authors can't keep track of everything.

The one where Dooku was captured by pirates. Originally, there was going to be a Sabaoth fighter in the hanger that some, can't remember who exactly, would use to escape the exploding ship, but there wasn't enough time or money for that so they just used a standard shuttle instead.

Ok then, I did not know that. Interesting never the less.

Yeah, Ran and a few other folks who originally set up Westeros.org. They're a bit like the folks here and elsewhere who started out as BNFs and later got invited to write, as they're co-writing The World of Ice and Fire with him.

Great, now I can't get the Magic School Bus lyrics out of my head...

The Grievous episode from season one shows him before the you know and it relates to tales. It's practically all at some point been referenced in the EU. I don't even read the books!

Well, the Grievous episode was controversial at the time because his toy came out and told a different backstory from the comic. As did another comic paired with the episode.

In the extra for season 1, Filoni said that the episode never explicitly confirms one backstory over the other, so there is nothing to say that the Tales comic version didn't happen. Hence why no one decanonized it (because the new version sucked and was probably just a dream anyway).

TCW actually has countless EU references, and generally only changed a small number of things, not really any different from what you'd get in most either direct lit to television adaptations, or even other parts of the franchise. The biggest contradictions were the timeline of the war itself, 2 Jedi deaths, the planet Ryloth, and Mandalore's history. Most of these can be worked around with a little bit of retcon creativity, with Even Piell's death being the show's biggest blotch on the franchise.

There were smaller issues like lightsaber crystals being colorless, ect. ect., but that's just a case of "in this particular place, and time" rather than a definitive way of saying "it was always this way". Illum was otherwise shown fairly accurately, including the fact that Yoda was the one who was last seen there.

The show is filled with EU references, many which it does get right.

When Palpatine gives his speech on Naboo in the Hardeen arc, there are fireworks that show off Naboo's history and make EU references.

Tons of ship designs from the microseries were accurately shown in the series. Headhunters,

While her planet of origin was changed to Dathomir, the other 90% of Ventress' backstory was accurately portrayed, including Ky Narec. Since her backstory was described in an EU comic by a rival warlord, we can merely toss up the inconsistencies to rumor rather than fact.

Delta Squad shows up in an episode. Need I say more? Ashame they didn't do much, but I guess this was one of the areas Filoni tried 'not' to contradict.

Gregor, a Repiblic Commando, participated in the Battle of Sarrish before he lost his memory, a battle previously depicted in the 2006 Free comic book day issue. Mina Bonteri's husband was also killed at the battle of Aargonar, previously depicted in Republic issue 59. Mace's battle on Dantooine is also mentioned, solidifying that at least 'some' version of the micro-series definitely still happened.

Quinlan Vos' ability to sense things based on an object someone interacted with was accurately depicted, and Jan and Jon (arguably his true creators and "parents" more than anyone) went on record to say they were actually quite happy with how he was depicted (he's not always brooding and dark and does occasionally have a sarcastic sense of humor), despite some controversy over it.

Mace seemed to use his Shatterpoint ability in the Ryloth arc (one of the few where we see him fight).

The Darksaber was probably from stolen at the ransacking of the Jedi Temple during the TOR era.

Level 1313 concepts were being used in Season 5 for the underworld.

Oh, and last but not least...?

Nal Hutta and Hutt Space, plus several of the Hutts seen in TCW also show up in different EU works.
