I'm counting on us ending up in the top, but I don't think we are going to win. There is a bit of backlash against Sweden from a lot of voters, we simply have won too much.
Oddly enough I found SF1 more entertaining because of the crazy songs and acts, at least there was more stuff to talk about. Personally I have no idea who's going to win, I can see Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Russia, Switzerland win this thing. Australia and Netherlands have an outside chance. So Obi_Anne you're the resident Eurovision expert, is this a good or weak year?
I would say it's a fairly good year, but not enough crazy. Tuesday had more fun entries, but they were eliminated.
And the countries going through to the final are: North Macedonia The Netherlands Albania Sweden Russia Azerbaijan Denmark Norway Switzerland Malta I'm really surprised about Malta and Albania, I'm happy for Albania though since that's something different compared to most other songs. The Viking Empire stands strong with Denmark, Estonia, Iceland, Norway and Sweden all in the final, only poor Finland is left out. I think we will get the winner from semi-final 2, but I'm not sure which one. I'm thinking that the top will be: The Netherlands Sweden Australia Switzerland Russia I'm hoping that Norway and Iceland will sneak in there as well.
And it's final time! I need to first get something to eat, my plans for the evening were wrecked by having to go with my mum and one of her cats to the vet clinic, so I just got home and is making dinner. But soon I'm going to be ready for the ESC show.
I haven't watched the semifinals, so I'm hearing all the songs for the first time as it happens, even the Norwegian entry. Sister (Germany's entry) is boring. Czechia's song was fun.
So far I prefer Albania, it's different. Russia doesn't really take off. Malta, Germany and Czech Republic were all boring.
San Marino - it's like that slightly embarrasing time when your out for dinner with your family and your dad decides to do karaoke.
The Swedish performer is very good. I like the Slovenian entry too. Very relaxed and ambient. But it's very uncharacteristic of ESC, and not really something you associate with a stage show.
What country was that fifth rate Madonna imitation from? That was dreadful. And Israel making sure they don’t have to put up the cash to host this shindig a second year in a row. Put me down for Team Norway . Fun song.
I love Norway, this is my kind of ESC song. Good dance beat, and then some ethno melodies. Long live the jojk!
I was doing the dishes, and missed everything between Norway and Belarus. The Belarusian song was catchy. The Azerbaijani entry sounds like something that could have been on the radio.
Yes, they throw in some English words sometimes, but the main lyrics are alway in Italian. I'm counting that we've had Albanian, Slovenian, Serbian, Icelandic, Italian, French and a bit of Sami so far
