Israel, Austria and Finland are going through, I'm sure. Probably Malta and Australia. After that I have no idea. I'd like to see Ireland and Latvia make it through, but this one is so ha4d to predict because so many of them are okay at best. France and Germany sounded good.
I liked: Finland, Luxembourg, Australia, Austria, Armenia not sure: Latvia I was kind of bored with this SF, I think this is the reason why I liked Finland and Luxembourg they stood out.
I'm in Mexico this week and leaving tomorrow. Actual conversation: Me: "Yeah, I get in Sunday and then leave Friday..." Coworker: "Why don't you stayxa day and do some sightseeing?" Me: "I can't, Eurovision is Saturday!"
LIthuania - well it was different from the rest. Will probably compete for votes with Ukraine Israel - I actually think this was the best song tonight Armenia - good one, deserves its place Denmark - always happy for our Scandi neighbours to make it through to the final Austria - is in the top on the betting lists, so not surprised Luxembourg - my second favorite of the night, so good that it got through Finland - and all the Nordic countries are through to the final. Long live the Viking empire. Well deserved Latvia - and we can invite the Baltics to join the vikings as well, since they are all through. Malta - expected Greece - it was a solid ballad and performance so deserves its place I will miss Australia and Serbia on Saturday though.
The finalists Lithuania - really? Israel - was always going to make it, pretty enough song Armenia - really? really? Denmark- I liked it Austria - technically pretty Luxembourg - it's fun Finland - horny af Latvia - yay! Malta - another fun one Greece - okay Germany - like it France - good one No Australia is a bit of a surprise
KAJ is a great humor group, so this is the song I've been listened to tonight, and I actually thinking about going to see them in the summer
So here are my takes on some of the songs tonight. Sweden - It is a favorite, but so far no comedic entry has won the ESC and is it good enough musically to break that glass ceiling? It might since it's not just comedy, it is also a well crafted happy pop song. Israel - the best ballad of the year, and beautiful staging. It is more about politics though when it comes to how many votes the song will get, and it's not going to win. Finland and Malta - more and more people are talking about them and bringing them up as a top candidates. They are bout ok, and I think we will heard them a lot on the dance floors in the summer, but I also think they will split likely voters between them. Austria - second favorite on the betting lists. I think it's too similar to last year's winner, and ESC voters usually want to switch up musical styles from year to year. This is also why I don't think Italy will end up on top, eventhough it's a good song. Luxembourg - pure fun and joy, but also a empowerement song, might be a dark horse. Albania - is also climbing on the betting lists, and it's definitely different from the rest, might be the other dark horse of the night. Overall I think it's a fairly weak year, without too many stand out songs, which makes it a lot harder to predict the top songs.
Luxembourg has some problems hitting the notes, but it's growing me and I like it. A lot better in studio than live apparently and I don't think it will win any votes from people listening to it for the first time with those vocal issues.
That Norway song was so NOT what I was used to from Norway... it was pretty good but it's always hard to go first.
I guess Estonia is the favorite of @Sarge after all, it has a happy, dancing airplane in the background.
Ukraine is the most musically complex song of the night, and I just can't decide if I like it or not.
Finland never disappoints, but her outfit is something else (seen elsewhere: "Finland sending Barb Wire is inspired...")
