    Michael Mann produced The Kingdom.

And Hancock. And Berg also starred in Collateral. So he is pretty much his protege.

    Which makes this really sad.

What's worse is that Berg was behind the creation of Friday Night Lights, which is just about as completely opposite of this as you could hope. And he's dragging Riggins in with him. Why, Peter, why? :_|

Berg needs to get back to his roots and do a Corky Romano sequel, sans Chris Penn(RIP) or a gritty reboot of Shocker.

SPOILER: At the end of this Battleship movie, there's going to be a trailer for a dark and gritty Hungry Hungry Hippos movie starring Vin Diesel and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Apparently, they play two elite special forces soldiers who are sent to Africa to help stop a gang of hippos who have taken over a bowling ball factory.

Candyland is an extremely deterministic game. From the time you sit down and shuffle the cards, the entire game is laid out in front of you. Every event is pre-determined at that stage. You don't play so much as you submit to the will of the cards.

So there's a chance for a rockin' philosophy movie in there.

I'm disappointed that Neeson is no longer playing Lincoln in Spielberg's planned Lincoln movie.

    Viva Los Angeles![face_flag]

Battleship still doesn't look that good but after seeing the trailer I may see it to see Liam play Daddy again. [face_love]

Awww, I was looking forward to Neeson playing Lincoln. :(

But Daniel Day-Lewis is playing Lincoln now. I like Neeson as much as the next guy, but that's something I'd consider to be an upgrade.

When I first heard that they were making Battleship movie I really thought they were bull****ing.

Then I hoped it could be a interesting naval battle movie, with elements of Das Boot and The Hunt for Red October.

Now I don't know what to think, this smells like another G.I. Joe-esque pile of ****.

The only way this Battleship movie could play out is for the aliens to wipe out the U.S. fleet with their almighty peg weapons. Then, in the final hour of desperation, our main character finds a way to reverse-engineer the alien pegs, leading to a final confrontation where both sides are firing pegs at each other.

    "D-5."
    "You sank my battleship!"

I'm still so very disappointed...I was always hoping for a series of WWII naval movies.

Battleship: Midway Island or Battleship: Target Bismarck...I'm such a history nerd that I would have gone to midnight showings to something like that.

    No no no.

The line comes from Taylor Kitsch, who will be playing....White Will Smith.
He'll get right up inside the alien ship and set off a peg-bomb, saying "THIS is for sinking my battleship!" before narrowly escaping the doomed alien craft.
