I am. Isn't that what pre-orders are for? Heh I'm not terribly upset (this time around), it's just frustrating how asinine things are
So it's out. Who has it? I might have it tomorrow but not certain? I want Endor space battle spoilers ASAP.
Finally got around to reading the behind-the-curtain stuff and I gotta add to this that I'd read "Oops All Ewoks" as well.
I have it. Still need to finish Empire FAVPOV. Buuuuut..I started it anyway. Love the opening theme in the audiobooks. And got sucked in a bit. Good stuff, as we've come to expect with this series.
I'm stuck waiting till about the 12th for it. So if anyone has spoilers, please please PLEASE, I want to have it. The Wook is busy with other things.
The insights were really interesting, the stats piece left me wondering how many FACPOV authors were first time versus returning to SW, and how many have since done further work for the brand.
I can give you those numbers. Of the 108 unique authors: 71, or about 66% had never written any SW content ever, and were debuting. That number is actually a bit over 70% if you include folks making their SW prose fiction debut (which would include folks like Charles Soule, Kieron Gillen, Kristin Baver, Phil Szostak, etc who have all done SW comics/nonfiction) but to keep things easier I just looked at straight debuts, as of the time of their story. As for future work, the current answer is 10 of those 71 or about 14%, again that number is a bit higher if you include folks like Soule in the "prose fiction" category. But really we should just look at the debut authors from FACPOVS 1 and 2, since ROTJ is just days old. And doing that, raises the % to around 22%, so just over 1 in 5 have already gone on to make other contributions.
I'm almost halfway through and despite feeling that some of the stories are subpar (one barely registers a 1/5 stars to me), I also feel that the majority are even better than half the stories in the first two installations. I've already given 3 of the 17 stories I've read 5 stars (4 of 18 if you count the Whills because I read that one first hahahaha), which is already more than I gave in the others. Some surprises on what I have low ratings and high ratings on, but so far, this is exceeding my expectations
I know, a double-post but... I finished. I spoke a bit too soon last night, because the back half had more duds than the first half. OTOH, I gave six stories a 5-star rating, including both the longest stories. That's more (or equal to) the other two books combined, none of which I think were the longest stories in those books. Overall, 3.6875/5 stars. Even if goodreads & Amazon had half-star ratings, this would merit the full 4 stars. Good end to the trilogy of anthologies!
Jason Fry, that absolute madman, does it again! Spoiler We finally have identities for the other half of the Ruling Council on the DSII. Tall Hat is Dangor. Red Robe is Pestage. And Purple Robe, whose very existence this board sought to prove, is a new character, Pebimarus Xorn!
Copy arrived yesterday. These books have excellent design aesthetics and this is no different. Only problem is I probably should read the ESB volume first....
