I did. I hadn't seen the original in a while so it was kinda difficult for me to catch some of the new scenes. There was one kinda funny moment where Reed is talking to Sue and says that he should be more heroic or manly and makes his face into Wolverine, resembling Hugh Jackman.

All in all I think the extended cut improved it a bit, adding for more character moments. But not to the extent that Daredevil was improved.

I got the EE DVD as well. Sadly though the free ticket isn't accepted at AMC theaters which are the only ones relatively close to me that I go to

After reading what they did with Galactus,I am not wasting my money on this rape of perhaps the greatest single plot arc of the Lee/Kirby era at Marvel.

I just got back from an early screening. The movie is a MAJOR improvement from the first. It has a lot of really fun moments. And Silver Surfer is amazing. Stan Lee's cameo is hilarious. There is a very brief appearence of old 70's Galactus near the end.

Saw it earlier today. Loved it.

Everything was done right (okay, the acting could have been better, but it was decent nevertheless, unlike a couple other Marvel films this year). I went in worried that they were going to put too much emphasis on the Surfer and stray from developing the Fantastic Four, but it was marvelously done. They focused on the four heroes, but yet you still felt connected to the Surfer. They unraveled his story perfectly.

I'm sure most fans loved the take on SS, and hopefully the folks over at Marvel will take the positive feedback to heart and give him what he rightfully deserves - his own movie.

Also, coming from someone who hasn't read a single F4 comic, I loved Galactus. Just brilliant the way they did him. Maybe if I was more of a comic fanboy I would have been disappointed, but I can't complain at all.

Rise of the Silver Surfer is easily the best Summer blockbuster this year. We'll see how Transformers and Die Hard do.

FF 2 was not the best super hero movie in the world by far, but it was a heck a lot better than the first movie. There were a few cheesy scenes and some not so good acting in this, but all in all, they did a good job. I knew Galacticus was a cloud before going to see the movie and I was expecting to be angry about it, but they did a decent job making the cloud work. Actually, Galacticus was not really the cloud, he was only disguessed by the cloud. I would have liked to see him, but they did hint at it. There were a few very quick blips where you saw his outline. The first was when Galactus passed by Jupiter. For a split second, you can see the outline of his helmet before the cloud came into view. Also, you can see the outline of his head and face in the fire. Very hard to see, and you might need to pause the scene, but I could make out an entire head, helmet and all, and I could see his mouth open when Galactus screamed. The head matches very closley to the Galactus more well known in the Comics as the giant entity dressed in purple.

Again, i would have liked to see a clear shot of him, but it appears that from what I read, they are keeping his looks a secret until the release of Silver Surfer the movie which probably will tie in very closely to the events of this movie.

Besides that, the movie was a much needed improvment. I would be willing to see a third movie, but I tend to doubt that they will be able to get the actors back together for a third movie. They almost never made this one.

For me, my favorite movie of the Summer up to this point was Meet the Robinsons, followed by Spider-Man 3, and then POTC: At Worlds End.

Did anyone see The Watcher anywhere near the end? Some of the early reviews suggested that he made a cameo, but if he did then I couldn't make it out. It was hard to see for sure if they even put the shadow of the real Galactus in there.

Even so Cloud/Galactus was a major step up from Cloud/Absorbing Man at the end of The Hulk.

I imagine that you'd have to be sitting in the back row of the theater in order to distinguish Galactus' face, or Uatu (I've never heard about a cameo from him). I for one couldn't see either.

I wasn't completly sure about seeing the shadow of Galactus' face the first time I saw the movie. I went to see it see it a second time yesterday and when the scene came up, I focused on where I thought I saw it. You actually can see the shadow or the form behind the fire, it's hard to see but it is there.

To make absolutly sure though, I will go see it again, and take along a picture of Galctus. I came home and found a picture and did based off of memory.

As for the watcher, I didn't even know he was going to make a cameo, and I didn't see him unless that cameo came after the credits. I didn't stay for the credits past the point of them hinting towards Silver Surfer the movie.

You can definitely see the shape of Galactus's head/helemt and his face within the fire at the "core" of the cloud.

Fun flick, much better than the first movie, some good action and whoever it is that played the Surfer himself (the physical surfer in the tarnished makeup and basis for the CGI flying version, not the voice) was absolutely brilliant.

The only downside to the movie is the stuff with Doom has ltitle to do with anything and it seems he was included as an afterthought. It felt like a real distarction from the Surfer/Galactus plotline and was merely an excuse to give the FF something to do.

I saw the film just a little while ago and thought it was a major disappointment. A step down from the first film. There was some good stuff in there but there was way to much bad. It seems like all the special effects budget went into making the Silver Surfer and he was fantastic, but everything else seems to suffer. Mr. Fantastic on the dance floor is some of the worst CGI I have ever seen. Just embarrassingly bad. Dr. Doom was underused. The battle between Dr. Doom on the surfboard and the Fantastic 4 in the Fantasticar could have been a brilliant action scene but Tim Story set it at night time so they could try and get by with shoddy CGI. The whole film looked like they were doing it on the cheap. There was no scope or epic feel. I really enjoyed the first film but this was the Blandtastic Bore.

If they make a third film, Tim Story has got to go. The sequel needed to up the ante and he just can't do it.

I saw it today and was quite pleased. Far and away much better than the first one. Galactus was handled surprisingly well. You can count me as one of the many who saw his head in the clouds.

Personally, I think that Julian McMahon's portrayal of Doom was the worst part of this movie. I was never thrilled with him in the first movie and I think he's even worse in this one. He would work well as any other villain. Namor springs to mind, a shame they wasted him on a weak Dr. Doom. Doom has always seemed bigger, more larger than life. And I don't know about anyone else, but I picture him with a MUCH deeper voice. One can argue that this Doom is more grounded in reality than the comics Doom but that makes his character much less interesting. Doom is a master of science and magic, enabling him to be more than a match for Reed. This Doom, sneaky as he may be, is no match for any one of the Four, and he was only able to be a threat with the Surfer's powers.

The only other questionable part of the movie is what the US Army was doing in London, Germany, and Siberia. This could have been a nice spot to throw in SHIELD to show some global armed forces.

Tim Story has been given the green light to begin the process of making Silver Surfer into a it's own movie. I believe the release date is 2009 or 2010. Tim Story has said that in this movie, Silver Surfer will face off with Galactus once again, and this time we will get to see him. I haven't heard recently if any plans have changed, but I heard this before the release of FF 2.

Are they making a third one? I got the impression that the box office receipts were disappointing.
