Farewell to Jira and the Mystery Ship

    Despite a complete lack of information on the web (including Wookieepedia), I was hoping one of you guys might be able to help with the following:

    At the end of the Episode I deleted scene 'Farewell to Jira' the camera momentarily lingers on an unusual looking ship being serviced by a collection of pit droids.

    Does anyone have any ideas / theories as to what this ship is or whether it bears any significance in Star Wars canon?

    Chances are it was just a piece of digital eye-candy added to the scene, however the fact that the camera very deliberately pans to, and lingers upon, this mystery ship makes me think that some significance is (or was meant to be) attached to it.

    It looks like that ship took off from Mos Espa, and landed in District 9. :)

    Does anyone else think they look similar???
