Saga Favourite Star Wars species apart from Human?

Just thought I'd bring up this topic and see what everyone's favourite may be. Mine are the Togruta, they look cool as

 

Bossk's species for two reasons

1. He reminds me of a dinosaur species that evolved unhindered and had no asteroid impact "65 million years ago"
2. There are apparently others of his kind from his home planet but somewhat shorter (his "cousins" in ANH)

 

I heard something about how Bossk's species and wookies apparently hate each other and kill each other. Thought that was an interesting back story.

Bossk was a male Trandoshan bounty hunter and the son ofCradossk who was known for hunting Wookiees.

But then again that's probably EU stuff that is no longer canon.

 

This is pretty much shown in Clone Wars, in the episode "Wookiee Hunt"

 

For fav species I'll go with:

 

Kaminoans and Pau'ans. Both are weird and cool looking.

Favorite species or favorite female species?

I'll be honest, each time I see Ayla Secura in the film or pictures I can't help but feel that for a female Jedi Knight she does way too many tricks with my mind (and George Lucas insisted "no mushy stuff" - yeah, right )

 

Duros. They just look so ... alien!

Shistavenen are cool too. I wouldn't mess with a Shistavenen.

 

Good call on the Kaminoans. I like them and their planet although I would have preferred them to be a little more practical instead of CGI.

 

Not sure how you expected them to be done that way considering their physiology and what they do in the movies. Pratical effects have their obvious limitations and it would just compromise how Lucas views the Kaminoans.

 

True, but they just look a little fake. Either more practical effects or *better* CGI would do the trick.

 

Wookies for me. When I was a kid, they reminded me of Bigfoot.

 

That's my point, how exactly would pratical effects work on the Kaminoans? Better CGI? That was state of the art when it was released. And somehow still holds up.

 

Either Wookies or Togrutas. Both have awesome species designs!

 

That's my point. I don't think the CGI holds up all that well. They look pretty fake.

when i first stumbled onto that bit of lore i felt validated for always having had my Chewie and Bossk action figures square off.

but yeah, jawas are my favorite.

 

From just the Saga movies off the top of my head
I like the Gungans.

 

EU: the Rakata, tied with the Gand (Yes, I know Zuckuss is a Gand, but they really shine in the EU)

Saga: Frig, that's tough. Probably Zabrak. Pity vote to Rathtars, they probably get second place anyways. I don't know, I just love them and don't get all the hate they receive
