QFT. Watch the film again and it is fairly easy to see that Anakin's arrival was foreshadowed, you can even hear Palpatine's voice calling for him and making the final push for Anakin to do the wrong thing in that situation.

The final situation between Mace, Palpatine, and Anakin makes no sense any other way IMO. Or is it all just a simple coincidence that Anakin's final test of faith came at the most opportune moment for Sidious?

Hell in that fight Sidious didn't even pull out all of his tricks yet, he didn't make any attempt at fighting Mace with anything except a blade. Do you honestly think that the most powerful Sith to ever live would go out like a chump and not use all the methods he has available?
