Exactly what you want for the matchup! Wish I could have watched this live. Edit. Ok. Now I'm watching it live.

Nadal will roll over the finalist in straight sets, no matter who it is.

tom, thanks for the link- that was unbelievable. I agree that Nadal is the favorite, but I think Ferrer could get a set off of him.

    seconded. Thanks for the link!

Men's tennis is finely tuned right now to a nice balance. Rafa is parked on top of Roland Garros like no one else in history, but it's by no means certain that he'll ever win another Australian or Wimbledon or U.S. Open.

Do you guys think Nadal is the greatest clay court player, ever?

It's gratifying for us old men to see Haas and Ferrer and Federer playing at such a high level. Looks like Tsonga is trying to wake up a bit.

Of course. The only player in his league on clay was Borg.

I missed all of the Nadal-Djokovic match, much to my chagrin. I was asleep for all of it. Very glad to see the result, though.

I know he's not even close to Nadal or Borg in the grand scheme, but I always liked watching Guga Kuerten growing up. He was a master of the surface, as well.

I disagree with the rush to crown Nadal after this match. He should be favored in the final, but you just never know sometimes. There's no doubt he's a better player than either of the two men he'll meet, but sometimes things happen.

sure he could lose. it would be one of the biggest upsets ever though.

I'd give it about 58-1 odds.

Ferrer looks like he's well on his way to the final absent a sudden injury or meltdown. Historically, Ferrer-Nadal hasn't been a very exciting matchup.

ferrer has taken two sets from him on clay this year, but after the beating that nadal put on him in the french semis last year you can't like his chances on this particular clay court. incidentally ferrer has beaten nadal on clay once, the first time they ever faced each in 2004.

That would be great if Ferrer could take it to at least 4 sets, but I'm not counting on it. I wish Tsonga could have won a set or two, but it's better Ferrer won't be recovering from a five setter.

I'd like to see Nadal put on a sort of valedictory performance. He's not going to be at this level for all that much longer. His body won't allow for it.

If only we could see Nadal vs. Borg from the late 1970s. Borg's best surface was clay, and there wasn't anyone at that level until Nadal came along.
