Oceania FF Oceania banner contest!

As I was fixing the style for this forum after someone broke it and neglected to fix it themselves, I noticed that we've had this banner since 2002. 2002, people! As fantastic as it is, I think it's high time for a new one. So, banner contest time. Anyone can enter and you can have more than one entry if you wish (though since there's only ten options on a poll, should the need to limit how many entries a person can have arise I might have to do so) and the winner - decided by a popular vote - gets a title befitting their mad design skillz for the duration that the banner stays up. If you wish to enter a colour scheme to go with your banner, you can do that too.

The guidelines for entry formats can be found here. Nominations will have to be hosted off-site (either on your own webspace or you can find someone generous to host it for you), but the winner will be uploaded to the TF.N server.

Entries close at the end of July, provided there's sufficient interest by that point. I'm sure I've forgotten something here, but since I can't think of anything, good luck!

One thing I don't get is why the nominations will be elsewhere. Err...Why?

Because it is a rather long process to get someone to upload things to the FTP server (there's only one or two people here who have access), mostly. I'm happy to get it done for the final winner, but to do it for every nomination would be a very long process. Also, traditionally the FTP server is only used for images which are actually being used by TF.N, so I'm not sure how peachy keen the site owners are on using it for that purpose.


DA: it was a combination of that, and the rather dull grey someone had changed it to when the server died. As for VIP status, traditionally not in FF. I'm checking with teh GSAs to confirm that though.

 

Colours mean a lot to me.

 

Perhaps you should be petitioning the JC about why ex-mods only get such a boring red, then. I've wondered about it myself, seems quite redundant with titles nowadays...

I suppose that's one of the things I should have stipulated...it should be related to SW in some way and it needs to say "Fan Force Oceania" on it. And, er, TOS friendly of course. That said, non-SW images can be used provided the banner conveys the message that we are, in actual fact, a SW fan society and not just a bunch of alco...er, fun-lovin' people.
