I'm currently a lvl 12 Monk on the Kujata server around the Bastok area. Just thought I would put my name out there. The character's name is Lordlucien. Feel free to say Hi if you see me online.

    Thanks,
    Lucien17

I'll keep an eye out Lucien. :) I'm on Kujata, currently around Windy, lvl 22 mnk/lvl 12 war. Hume named "Urgentpicnic."

    :)

I got my WHM up to level 13 today, so now BLM and WHM are even again. I need to get them both up to 14 now, though, so I can equip my Friar's Rope on both.

Been having a rough couple weeks, and last nights insomnia turned into some FFXI time.

And no, I haven't slept.

    Last night's accomplishments:

-Finally took Monk past 20, up to 22, in Qufim.
-Obtained the keys for the Kazham airship pass.
-Obtained Rank 3 by defeating the dragon.
-Realized at 6:00 a.m. there was no way in hell I was going to sleep.
-Brewed an entire pot of coffee, drank 5 cups.
-Raked in 6000 gil over all through the night, between quests/mission/rank/AH/gardening.

    I'm tired damn it. [face_laugh]

Can anyone tell me who to talk to to get a map of Qufim?

I've come close to falling asleep while playing countless times. [face_tired]

You can get a map of Quifim in Lower Jeuno, just inside zone from Batallia. (I can't remember if it's Batallia or Sauramugue zone in Lower Jeuno  )

Quifim is pretty small, it's not really necessary to have a map, though it's nice to have one.

Found it during my lunch break.

Don't feel like blowing 3 grand on it at this juncture. Maybe in the future, once i'm "rollin" in the gil. ;)

    Oh, and

    Upper Jeuno - Battalia
    Port Jeuno - Saramuge
    Lower Jeuno - Rolanberry

    :)

We had a huges storm Thursday night, where lightning hit a line. And my surge protector was faulty. And my modem fried.

Getting a new one at lunch today (it's a rental, so no biggie on me :) )

But my plants are surely dead by now.................. which sucks.....

Sometimes i'm thinking i'll never hit lvl 30 at this rate.

BTW, word of advice, if you're in a PT, don't ever tell the WHM when it's time to pull, or argue with him when he says he's not ready. Tear knows what I'm talking about.

I've already learned that lesson dehrian. ;) Basically, WHM magic meter is thy god whenst pulling.

Not just the mp meter. That was the same mistake our PT made. They assumed that just because my mp was full I was ready to go. But I had pulled so much hate from curing in the last battle that my hp was low. So a mob was pulled before I had all my hp back and I died, even though I told them not to pull because I was worried about my hp.

Basically, the WHM always knows what he needs to have to keep the PT alive, so if he says he's not ready, don't question it, just don't pull.

Check out these Chains of Promathea (sp?) screen shots:

Nothing yet. At first, SE said no, but now they're saying, "We can't tell you that!" So there may be, but there may not be. Don't know yet.

Well, I know what i'd like to see:

Mime - that would be pretty interesting. Could make for an interesting party, as the character could literally do anything.

Time Mage - In FF Tactics, this was my favorite job. Nothing but status magic.

Chemist - a person who can create items for use at anytime. In tactics, they could use guns too. Could work well with a Ranger job.

    I can dream, can't I? :D

Yeah, Alchemist was pretty much an improved version of the Chemist from Tactics.

Funny thing is how the Alchemist ended up being a way more efficient healer than the white mage. [face_laugh]

New jobs would be really cool. But i've racked my brain, and personally can't imagine any jobs that haven't already been covered. We can still hope though.

My most recent endeavour has been leathercrafting. I've been wanting to start a craft for a while now, but didn't know which one I wanted to do, or have the capital to get it going. I've put in around 150k so far, and have reached lvl 17, with the help of an online guide. I think it will payoff in the longrun, and for some reason, I find it kind of enjoyable. :p

Well, leathercrafting is starting to get really expensive, I've dumped at least 200k more into it, to get from 17-25. 100k of it to get from 20-25 alone. Granted, I do make a portion of it back re-selling parchment, but still not nearly what I put into it. I don't have much of a problem making gil, but saving it is a whole other ballgame. :p

    VanaDiel needs a bank dammit!

I got a lot accomplished in the past week:

BLM from 14 to 31, WHM from 14 to 17, unlocked BST, BRD, RGN and DRK, and started NIN and SAM. Also got my chocobo license, and the three keys from Ghelsba, Palborough (for which Fite, Tear and I set a new world record, I do believe) and Giddeus to get the Kahzam airship pass. I also got WAR to 5 while getting the 100 kills for the DRK quest, and leveled BST to 5 today.

    Here's some AF2 pics:

I think those might be early renderings, I've seen PLD's second set of AF equip. (relic) and it looks slightly different. It has a little bit of red in it. Still cool as hell though. Can't wait to get my first set of AF for DRG. The first piece of armor is right around the corner. :D

Edit: Now that I look at it more, that's definitely DRK's Relic. I've seen the Gloves, Feet, and Legs.

Found this joke on the net. Ways to make FFXI less enjoyable:

    1) Genkai Wallet quests. Start off with a 10,000Gil limit, and make 4 quests to break that cap. 50K, 100K, 300K and then unlimited. Of course all gil obtained when you are maxed is lost.

    2) Make regular 8 hour maintenance during 16h00-00h00 on Saturdays. At 00h00, announce that the maintenance is extended to 08:00 because patches come in pairs right? Oh and make patches @#%^ up something totally unrelated to something else. You're introducing new armor designs? Well, it suddenly should be more difficult to fish.

    3) It's not nearly hard enough getting Artifact Armor. I think that sending Level 50s in Dynamis to get their AF would be more appropriate and annoying, and preferably in batches of 64 minimum because you know, everyone here knows 63 other Level 50s online at the same time as you are. And after all, it's not a Coffer party unless everyone dies and delevels 3 times so they have it but can't wear it right?

    4) Make the level limit of XP parties to 1. After all, why should a Level 36 team with a Level 37 and leech of all the XP from the higher level guy? He's doing all the work, no?

    5) As more players flood the servers, increase the spawn times. The items on the AH from dropped mobs are not expensive enough, i see too many of them. The economy is too controlled dammit!

    6) Introduce quests that will make everyone go "oooh" "aaaah" then place the conditions across the map, limit by level and rank, put it in things people seldom used like Garrison and Ballista, preferably both and of course put a mob on a 36 hour timer because we all have 36 consecutive hours to camp a mob. Did I mention the drop is like 1% with Treasure Hunter 2? Oh you don't have Thief? And make the drop a single drop, so the entire party can battle over which person gets the drop because you know, team efforts give single results right?

    7) Introduce weddings, but only allow people that fax fake wedding certificates to get some. Also, limit the weddings to opposite sex couples, even though 2 races do not have opposite sex counterparts.

    8) The autotranslator should be a quest. You would get new words as you spoke to the Japanese Ninjas in each region, which would then unlock important words quests not in the translator like "Go get the party a monster" or "Please come here".

    9) GMs are far too polite. Instead of having them say "I'm sorry Maeva i cannot help you with that even if i could but i'm on a break right now, good luck on your conquest in Vanadiel!", make them say something completely incoherent or not answer the call at all. In fact, why isn't there a quest to unlock the HelpDesk feature?

    10) NPCs should be a little more vague about what they are seeking or where they want you to go or who to talk to because frankly, I don't have to log to Allakhazam quite as often as I should.

    Another piece of humor:

Found this odd linkshell in my mog safe. When I equipped it, I heard the following conversations:

Crab: lvl 17 Fighter LFG in dunes

    Ghoul: Hey Ban, you on?

    Banshee: Yah.

    Ghoul: Want to xp?

    Banshee: Sure.

    Goblin Butcher: afk

    Goblin Weaver: k

Ghoul: Let?s go back to Quifim, got mad xp there last night.

Ghoul: Got a 6 EXP chain there

    Enchanted Bones: Sweet.

    Banshee: heh, that is nothing.^^

Crab: lvl 17 Fighter LFG in dunes

    Leaping Lizzy: Hey all.

    Mist Lizard: Hey!

    Rock Lizard: Yo!

    Leaping Lizzy: Damn, died again!!

Leaping Lizzy: Really need to change my HP. Too many aggros in this zone.

    Goblin Butcher: back

    Goblin Weaver: finally, pull away.

    Goblin Butcher: Got a Monk.

Goblin Butcher: Do BLMs link with Monks?

    Goblin Weaver: think so

    Goblin Butcher: Incoming Monk!!! <call2>

    Goblin Weaver: NO!

    Goblin Weaver: sigh?

    Goblin Butcher: opps

    Goblin Butcher: afk a sec

Crab: lvl 17 Fighter LFG in dunes

Pugil: no one is going to group with you

    Crab: shut it Pugil

Crab: you just stood there yesterday when that Ninja aggroed on me

    Pugil: you need better equipment

    Crab: I have great armor

Pugil: and you need to learn to voke

    Pugil: Make a macro!

    Crab: whatever

Yhator Manragora: Forming group to help get my RSE!!

Yhator Manragora: Dark, will you help?^^

    Dark Dragon: sure.

Yhator Manragora: cool, we are planning on doing it tomorrownight.

Dark Dragon: eh, don?t think I?ll be on tomorrow

    Yhator Manragora: ???

Dark Dragon: I seem to draw too much aggro on Friday and Saturday nights. Try to avoid playing then.

    Yhator Manragora: -_-

Phantom: hey cross, want to camp the ship with me?

Crossbones: dunno, not so good xp in last group I was in there

Phantom: that is because you guys just stay above deck, the good xp is below deck in the storage hold.

Phantom: lots of under cons there.

    Crossbones: o i c

Goblin Mugger: Where can I sell these Beastmen Seals?

    Goblin Gambler: You can?t.

Goblin Mugger: What are they for?

    Goblin Mugger: anyone know?

Dvorovoi: You can use them to unlock boss encounters at high level.

Goblin Mugger: oh cool, are the boss encounters hard?

    Dvorovoi: Kinda.

Dvorovoi: You fight six lvl 40s. Usually a Bard, Paladin, White Mage, Monk and some other damage classes.

Dvorovoi: They all use their 2 hours.

    Goblin Mugger: whoa

Yagudo Initiate: What about these Tarutaru Bead Necklaces, are they good for anything?

    Dvorovoi: Not sure.

Goblin Weaver: You can break them down with a Lightning Crystal and get 3 Grass Thread.

Goblin Weaver: I?ll buy stacks of the thread off you.

Yagudo Initiate: No thanks. I am thinking about taking up crafting.

    Goblin Weaver: ^^

Its about time that I posted in this thread again...hell its about time I posted again, period. lol

The past week I've done pratically nothing productive, which really, really bites as I'm always waiting on my static to get their asses together and get on at the same time! Perhaps it doesn't help that I'm one of 2 people in my static that has no life and are on all the time just about? yeah, yeah, yeah.

Anyways, I've got my PLD up to 43, 1k tnl too thanks to a death via Tears tonight, thanks Pal! But it was a good death IMO and he zoned with 1 hp left remaining, lol.

We were farming NMs in Upper Delkfaut's towere when some troll aggroed him and got someone else and I killed while Fite just sat that and watched. Or was afk as he claims, but I didn't mind as I wanted to die to get home easily. ;)

My job lvls are as follows:

    PLD 43
    BLM 1
    WHM 11
    SMN 12
    WAR 29
THF 15 (pain in the ass to get too)
    BRD 7
    RNG N/A
    DRK N/A
    NIN 1
    SAM N/A
and well I think everything else is either 1 or N/A

I just spent 100k on a nobles bed and that one hurt, but IMO it was worth it.

    ===================

Thats pretty funny Dehrian about that convo. Nice one ^_^
