The door to the library of Noranan central station was opening.

Ker Zomorian hit the pauze switch and saw Ivano Arvedai entering with a big smile on his face.

“Reading those logs and hearing those voices?”

“Yes Ivano.” Ker turned back to his viewscreen. “It has been fun for me reading and listening to the logs accompanied by the voices of L'Lacielo Sageon and HK47. Continue with log 15:

Biped Gavin going to his office.
Meatbags did not change my code. Donna Muskian also not.
We are using the transponder code from Trunco Putty Corp.
Useful. Donna Muskian was never arrested after she had entertained her guest on Anaxes, Malastare, Nar...
Don't list all those planets NAVdemX
    Shutting down.

“Close file.” Ker saw the logo of Noranan central station one again on the terminal. “You have been reading those too?”

“Yes I loved to read more about the Stellar Express. And that has me with your offering to use the Stellar Express to go to the fire-fighter games at Eled-Hir's place.”

“Those games.” Ker began to smile. “When we returned from our visit to the Stellar Express and were at that barbecue from the students of Rick Caidin, I remember your chief talking to my chief about that.”

“Today he got the official invitation for the games. They will be held on selona 4.”

“At the same time as the opening of the new vault?”

“Yes. That will be the main event. I was there when the vault was destroyed by those criminals.”

“And I was involved in the next disaster that had me rescued by my chief. Tarhin asked me to get him and Steve Magaron to the festival. I will bring my lightsaber for a demonstration with Aaqu Maerhin. You are my last passenger and you will be joining him. I have asked Rick to be my pilot. With you and Tarhin are Steve, Tarkan, Aaqu and Rian in the cargo-hold. They are also invited by Eled-Hir. Kaagi and Jason will be flying their X-wings to the festival.”

“Rick not going with his students?”

“No Rick loves to be in the Stellar Express one more time. His students will take one of the transports from the school. Do you know their name for the festival?”

“I have heard something about Noranan junior firebirds and fire-heroes but that's all. Rick has been quite hush hush.”

“He has told me when he asked me to be his pilot.”

    “And?”

“He got the inspiration from one of the logs, discussed it with his students, had them visiting the Stellar Express and they are now going by the name Ram&bull after hearing that log about the rooster and nerf being transported by Jika Bale.”

“That log sure was fun. Going to read more?”

“Not today. See you tomorrow at the Stellar Express.”

“Four in the morning?” Ivano indicated the clocks at the wall displaying various times.

“Yes, we have that five hour time-difference with the valley of Eled-Hir and have to be there at lunch time.”

It was half past 2 in the morning. Ker was shivering when he closed the door of his cottage on North Beachroad 30 in Noranan. He had donned his usual uniform with his lightsaber hanging from his belt. The wind from the west had picked up during the night and through the speeding clouds he saw some of the stars that were visible even with the nebula surrounding the Moniron star-system. They were as Karan Moarin had told him the giant stars of the Irel starcluster. 'Without Irellion, destroyed by that fallen Jedi-knight Vlad Dooku,' went through Ker's mind when he settled down at the controls of his groundspeeder and guided it towards the road following the coast. Waking up this early he had some time to take that road. Passing the stream he turned on Creek-path and headed east before following again the road towards the harbour. A smile was on his face when he saw the Noranan forest dotting the hills. He had been there often with Tarhin riding a husan. It made way for hills and rocks surrounding he old harbour and harbour canal with the bridge crossing it. Lights were seen in the harbor. 'Fish not for me but for her, teacher and Jedi-knight Eunice Kiriani. She knew how to juggle with fish.' Ker smiled when he remembered her from his distant past. 'She was discovered on Lingala by my colleagues Timmis and Sheli when I was recovering from that mission to Hamalk where I was mauled by a Jek-hound.' Passing the industry complex at Benir road he turned east towards Park avenue where in the distance the buildings and hangars of Noranan air- and spaceport became visible. Passing the entrance he headed to the far end of the tarmac and the hangar where he had visited the Stellar Express and got a big smile on his face. The parking before the hangar was crowded. His passengers were already there except? Rick. What was keeping Rick? Ker parked his ground-speeder and walked towards Ivano Arvedai, Aaqu Maerhin, Rian Solma, Tarkan Er-Veridan, Steve Magaron and his chief Tarhin Engaron. Do you know where Rick is?”

“I do,” Ivano began to laugh when he saw a man walking on the tarmac. “Yesterday I heard Rick and commander Kulmaro arguing about abstinence. Rick of course wanted to take one of the fast airspeeders home, telling Kulmaro that he did that always in Haradan. But Kulmaro refused and Rick had to take the public transport to his apartment. He has arrived by public transport and will be here soon.”

“That's Rick, always wanting to take a freighter, airspeeder or one of the transports in the hangar on a test-ride.” Rian Solma said. “I remember him as the apprentice of Serinka and having to practice abstinence when he made those delicious pies with fruit and wanted to sample the dough. Rick didn't but Nil Monwa, arriving with his clan and making a beeline towards the kitchen had almost all dough gone before Serinka could take the bowl away and make new dough to make enough pies.”

“Sorry guys,” Rick arrived. “I had to take the public transport but now I am here and we are still early. Get in and settled on the couches or in my old bed-room. Ker, you can pilot her.”

“Yes.” Ker walked up the ramp and into the cockpit and waited for Rick to settle in the co-pilot seat.

“It's a short trip.” Rick saw that the ramp was closed when an indicator blinked green. “You can start the journey to Eled-Hir. The viewscreen is active as you can see with the image of Jeki Eki.”

    “Waiting for command.”

“And the voice of L'Lacielo Sageon.” Rick said.

“JES700 get her started.” Ker said.

    “At your orders user...”

    “Identified meatbag Zomorian.”

“You again Navex?” Rick began to laugh when the voice of HK47 was heard. “Silence please. Ker will fly the Stellar Express.”

    “Controls for meatbag Zomorian.”

“Shut up. I will fly.” Ker guided the Stellar Express out of the hangar and into the air.

An uneventful journey followed and Ker was guiding the Stellar Express down to a large meadow near a complex of buildings blending into the natural environment when he spotted a familiar man at the entrance of the hopsital. “Eled-Hir is waiting for us.”

    - - -

Sunshine was dappling the meadow before the guest-quarters where Ker, Tarhin and Steve had been guided to by Eled-Hir after landing the Stellar Express.

“Already hours past caf-time in the morning.” Ker looked outside.

“Yeah and there are some reports unfinished at my desk.” Tarhin joined him.

“About that last one with Urkial the builder wanting to use inferior material and getting us after him?” Steve dropped his bag next to his bed.

“That one and another.” Tarhin sighed. “But see there are Ivano and Rick. They are outside enjoying the flowers that blossom and sprout in this meadow. And what are they doing?”

“Let's go and see.” Ker headed outside with Tarhin and Steve. “Maybe they know where to get something to eat. I didn't have breakfast.”

“You took your time to join us.” Rick looked up. “See that moth is sampling the nectar and unaware of those ants coming to get it.”

“And he doesn't have to worry about the ants.” Ker began to smile. “We had those moths in the gardens of the Jedi-temple. They are called fire-moths and have a uncanny high tolerance for the acid of the ants. See he is flying away to the next flower and there is a bee.”

“And more of those bees, humming and collecting nectar. That's nature.” Rick said. “A real bee chant and seeing this. Where is the restaurant for us?”

“I know the way.” Ivano, Tarhin and Steve chorused. They had been there after the mishap at the academy.

    - - -

The five men were entering the restaurant of the hospital.

Rick spotted a group of student firefighters engrossed in a lively conversation with someone he knew. “That's Jace.”

Jace Questir looked up hearing his name, stood up and headed to him. “Rick, I will join you and you can introduce me to your group.”

Ivano, Tarhin, Steve and Ker were at the counter and had filled their trays when Rick came with Jace who took another tray and began to place six fruit pies on it.

“They will love it and I am taking another one. I am Jace Questir, Caidin's commander until he attended the Noranan fighter games with his students and decided to join you.”

“Ivano Arvedai and yes our commander and I wanted him for our students.”

“And I got another very skilled instructor when Danny Xoyte decided to leave the Monir academy.” Jace observed the three men in different uniforms.

“Ker Zomorian.” Ker shook hands with Jace and saw him looking towards the lightsaber. “I have been a Jedi-knight.”

    “Steve Magaron.”

“Tarhin Engaron and the chief of those two special ops officers.”

“No students Rick but where is your group.” Jace walked to a large table with the others following him.

“They will be arriving soon and for them it is the first time to come here.” Rick sat down.

“For us too.” Jace began to distribute the fruit pies on each tray. “I am leading the group at the Haradan air- and space-port. Commander Kaisa of the Haradan city fire-department and school had another more important festival to go to with almost all the Haradan fire-fighters so...”

“He sent you with a group of students.” Ker said.

“Yes the organisers of the Haradan culture and poetry festival request a large contigent of uniforms to secure the safety in the tents.” Jace smiled mischievous. “You have been there Rick after seeing that poster and wanting to see what that was about.”

“Culture and poetry festival huh,” Rick made a face. “All those humans from everywhere on the planet on a pilgrimage to see their favorite screeching groups. No Dunai or Dunai elder there at all. And those poems about fertility and renewal. It was more an invitation to have sex with everyone.”

“Does commander Kaisa know?” Ivano looked up from what was on his tray.

“He does and he wants to protect his daughter too. She is going there for the first time to see the ritual of the burning statue of fertility.”Jace said. “And that's were the fire-fighters are needed most. To watch out for flying embers from that giant.”

“I was gone before that happened.” Rick said.

'And that has you here, competing against us, the group from the Monir academy led by chief instructor Lidya Davis and the group from here.” Ivano indicated a man coming in. “That's Jesse Aranon and he is leading the fire-fighters from Eled-Hir.”

“With a great advantage over all the other teams.” Rick said. “They are at their home base and know all.”

“Not at all.” Jesse came to their table. “Tarmenel has a surprise for all of us. You will see tomorrow before the official opening of the academy with the restored library and vault.”

    - - -

It was the next day. The men from Noranan were still feeling the time difference and had to cope with an early wake-up call and early breakfast.

Rick was standing before his group of students, all dressed in their fatigues and saw that Jace Questir, Jesse Aranon and Lidya Davis were doing the same when Tarmenel Eled-Hir came forward.

“Greetings all for a special edition of the fire-fighter games.” Tarmenel began. “You all have to use the same truck provided by our department. We have taxing assignments for all with an unusual object. Have fun and the first group is the ram&bull from Noranan. Go.”

    - - -

And it was fun with Kaagi Adin and Jason Guyet acting as victims in their X-wings with the two astromechs making comments and trying to undo what the crews were attempting.

Aaqu Maerhin was the acting surgeon and Rian Solma was involved with a group of children and their teacher Leda Errini trapped in a school-transport because one of the X-wings had landed on the roof. The second X-wing was before the door.

    - - -

After the last group had completed the assignment – four old school-transports were now demolished and two X-wings were guided carefully to the meadow – Eled-Hir invited all to come to the academy.

    Students were mingling.

    “Never seen an X-wing.”

    “And that blatting astromech.”

    “Beesie or Iffy?”

“Both were a pain in the posterior Rino.”

“But the right command had them flying the X-wing away and us with access to the school-transport.”

“A pity we are just students. I had wanted to go to the Haradan culture and poetry festival to see the burning statue.”

“But now we are here and what's that?”

“It sure looks strange. A beam of blue light and there is a second and it is green.”

“And that sound when those beams are meeting each other. Sort of electricity.”

“They are lightsabers. I have seen them often in the Jedi-temple.”

“Yeah Rick, you and your job as a techie but for us it is quite a sight.”

Aaqu Maerhin and Ker Zomorian were wielding their lightsabers, demonstrating how they could defend, attack, both masters, one a healer and the other the former leader of the Jedi intelligence department. Coming to an end when they saw Tarmenel Eled-Hir coming and igniting a small lightsaber with a green beam.

Tarmenel sliced through the rope that was before the entrance. “The academy is open. It is again complete with a new vault where Master Yoda's lightsaber will be stored until the galaxy is at peace.” He entered the academy with all the guests following.

    - - -

“Master Yoda's lightsaber?” Rick was baffled. “I have seen that when I was guided by master Serinka to a training with the Bantha and Eopie clan. Master Yoda was demonstrating how to use a lightsaber and after that we got training sabers. But how did it end up here?”

“That is a long story.” Aaqu said. “I can tell you after we are back outside for the lunch in the garden. A fire-fighter had an important role.”

“I have used it to escape from the destruction of the academy to guide us to safety.” Steve saw Tarmenel coming out of the vault without the lightsaber. “And that dratted Dorsetti holocron is again safe.”

“You have used the lightsaber too?” Rick asked.

“Yes and let's go outside.” Steve said. “I have seen some nice fruit-pies on that counter in the garden. They looked the same as the ones we had yesterday for breakfast after our arrival.”

“Yes that five hour time difference has us still with a jet-lag.” Aaqu said. “But no worry, after this lunch we are going back?” He walked to the counter and selected a fruit-pie and juice.

“In the Stellar Express.” Rick filled his tray, blinked and jawed. “To have another lunch at the station or some shut eye. But now your story about Master Yoda's lightsaber.”

Aaqu sat down at a table in the centre of the garden. With Ker, Steve, Rick, Tarhin, Rihan and Tarkan he had an eager audience but he saw more crews arriving and waited until the fruit-pies and drinks on his table were gone. He began “some of you must have heard about instructor Luciano Robi.”

“Yes,” That came from the table where Lidya Davis was sitting with her crew. “There is a statue from him in the academy.”

“And a diary.” Lidya said. “I have read that and know all about Luciano.”

“You know but here are men wanting to know more.” Aaqu smiled. “Luciano Robi was once a member of the Jeditemple fire-department and had joined another crew at the end of the so called clone wars. He was there on a call to the senate for a fire in the basement and discovered Master Yoda's lightsaber. He took it with him, wanted to return it to the Jedi-temple but found it occupied by stormtroopers. He fled the Jedi-temple and returned to his home on Alderaan with his friend Boyd Vienar. He met Alwin Karao serving in the Alladea firehouse. An invitation from Sheryl Vienar, Boyd's sister and a famous podracer, had Boyd, Alwin and him going to Tatooine and meeting Obi-Wan Kenobi who had a speeder accident. They helped him and Luciano and Alwin were ordered by Obi-Wan to go to Moniron to keep the lightsaber safe. Luciano and Alwin landed here and that's how Master Yoda's lightsaber was secured here in the academy.”

“A nice story and I like to read that diary.” Rick said.

“You can when you are visiting us at the Monir academy.” Lidya said. “I can give you a copy. You and your students are invited to come to the next fire-fighter games. They are next month.”

“I accept your invitation but now.” Rick saw more sleepy faces. “We are going back to Noranan. And you can pilot the Stellar Express again.”

“Let's go.” Ker nodded. “And when we are back in Noranan I want to read more of those logs.”

    - - -

Ker had guided the Stellar Express home to the hangar. A lunch in the restaurant of Noranan central had followed. He was back in the library and was about to start up one of the viewscreens when he saw Ivano entering.

“Going to read those logs again or do you want to go home?”

“Uh I was about to read more but home? A nice swim with the falgans?”

    “Yes.”

    “Let's go.”

Nice demos with lightsabers and X-wings. Great that different groups combined to have a festival.

Oh, it was nice to see all this cast of characters coming together in a single story, and I love the idea of a firefighter meet where different groups get to challenge each other to firefighting exercises! But what I like best in this timeline is how the Stellar Express has become a part of the team, so to speak, and it's regularly featured and still revealing its secrets in the combined voices of L'Lacielo Sageon and HK47. And what it doesn't know, one of the characters does, such as the fate of Yoda's lightsaber.
