I really wish that in TCW they had given us the Victory or Gladiator class Star destroyer instead of the Arquitens.

Where are the Trek folks dropping that, anyway? I'd actually been hoping to find something like that as I no longer have the patience to compare dozens of individual nacelles to identify all the classes in a big fleet shot.

The Databank for Home One has been updated, size 1200 meters still.

Also I haven't seen anyone else share this, Imperial Cinematic over on YouTube made a video of what the Chimaera and Eye of Sion may look like once docked.

Three of the new cruisers turn up but scaling them is a difficult one as they were only matched up to something(s) with many sizes.

Why do they need to bring Chimaera back to the galaxy anyway? Isn't Thrawn himself good enough?

I've seen some speculate that it relates to the Lothal Temple ruins that were kept aboard. The ones Sidious uses to tempt Ezra.

It might not even be for the Chimaera specifically.

Hrm, well they still don't need to bring the whole ship back, do they? If the ruins were loaded onto Chimaera, they can be unloaded and put onto another ship.

All but one of the Purrgil were at max 1/3 the size of the cruiser, iirc most of them were around 1/5 the size of an ISD in Rebels.

I'm fine with Gideon's ship being canonically larger since visually it clearly is (I don't completely buy the "modified for greater speed" explaination we've gotten so far, given all the other visual differences) but yeah the TCW Arquitens' size different is silly since even internally the bridge is identical.

Out of curiosity I checked Jason Fry's "The Clone Wars - Incredible Vehicles" yesterday and I found many more lenght discrepancies which are not brought up on Wookieepedia, which I presume are based on the actual lenghts of the models in the show. The Venator is pretty close at 1.155m, while the Acclamator and the Munificent are surprisingly larger at 891m and 1.199m (!). No info on the Arquitens unfortunately, since the book only goes as far as season 2 or 3 of TCW.

I mean. Larger ship, bigger reactor, more power to mass ratio, maybe, more speed?

Gideon's cruiser does have an additional 4 smaller engines, so that could be what's giving it the extra speed.

There's some nice closeups of the hangar bays that might be useful for scaling the ship, and some good sides views as well.

A Star Destroyer, its crew, assault vehicles and fighters would be highly valuable at this point in the timeline, so bringing it back would make some sense. Plus then they don't need to find Thrawn a new ride.

There might also be a possibility that Thrawn's ship isn't the only one that got transported to the other galaxy. In which case they might be bringing back part of a fleet; presuming the ring is big enough to carry more than one Star Destroyer.

1,200m seems to be correct; the pic says 1,191m because the cruiser's bow is cut off. Even this is a lowball, since I probably overestimated the T65's length relative to the blue stripe.

I think with Gideon's ship we see on screen that there is a size difference...in Rebels a Sentinel docks between it's forked bow...in Mandalorian a Lambda actually goes into the launch tube.

I vaguely remember that in some "behind the scenes" interview someone explained that the Lambda could not fit inside Gideon's cruiser so they "resized it" for just that scene, but I agree that it's clearly larger than the Rebels Arquitens given the several hangars and much larger bridge.

Can anyone verify these armament numbers for the Vesper-types? I can't make out any triple turrets.[IMG]

    I return!

Those hangars are about 15m tall. The 1,200 really does check out. And it matches consistently with the size of the bridge too.

That is made up. There is one large ventral dual and six smaller dorsal turrets.

I feel like the Vesper-type looks much more like a civilian transport ship than a warship.

I can see where you are coming from, especially given the gentle white and blue livery. Nevertheless, we've never seen it in action to associate it with that. I suppose, if we looked upon Home One anew, would we see a warship?

Would you mind pointing out the ventral turret? It's probably the low resolution, but the only thing that looks like a turret is this part at the rear.[IMG]

I am just glad it is not another Imperial Triangle or a lumpy Mon Cal.
